at least in my defend, the game of my fan logos is still acceptable, it's take 2-3x less time than this game to update, not to say the update for PL always "HUGE" with actual content matter to the plot.
as for this game
well like i said after that 2+ years of wait then an actual update with buggy content, the dev gone again then comeback after more than a year, and as expected, the update is mostly just filler and not even related to actual main plot.

It all depends on how much time the developer can spend to making the game. Some people design games as a hobby after their regular work. Then it takes longer. Much longer.
