Hi, Ive been stuck on build 82 due to D3D device being lost error on all other builds ahead of it, Specs are good to run the game, Ive seen previous posts about this and tried those solutions but nothing works, can or will there be a patch for this? Thank you.

Can you give a bit more info about your PC specs ?
Windows 10 / 11 ?
What's your GPU ?

It seems it's a known error since awhile on UE games but there are no miracle solutions.
It can come from different factors such as GPU issue, GPU driver issue, Power/PSU issue, DirectX,
the "MPO" thing (

I surprised no one has mentioned the fact that the game has 74, and I am not exaggerating, 74 Crowdsourced YARA rules detections. I have never seen that before, most I have ever seen on F95 is 3-4. I checked mega, pixeldrain, and datanodes. All three have this, SHA 256 Hash is: 7e5bf504dbf3b6d836fd5fb3f6a933b58f2992ac11e6138e76a1441701f4c69f for anyone who wants to see themselves. (You need a free virustotal account to see YARA detections). Also note that this is from the .exe alone.

So YARA is a pattern-matching system. Those detections say what rule they match. Normally these aren't a major deal but it depends. They are NOT indicative of malware, however with that root exe like I said there are 74 detections from 9 different companies. Also the names of the matched segments are concerning. There are multiple ruleset matches from keyloggers, loggers, ransomware, malware droppers, banking malware, Remote Access Trojans, and etc. Again it doesn’t prove there’s malware in the file, it only means the file matches certain patterns similar to ones seen in the malware listed. I attached a picture where you can see some of the namesets. Very concerning and worth taking a closer look at. I would look into more but I am not at my VM right now and am not willing to download that on my computer.

TLDR is I still wouldn't trust the root exe, and delete it, and use the deeper exe if I had to, but I think there's a possibility that the launcher is just really poorly made. But again that is a stretch considering it tripped 74 rulesets. I can't stress how abnormal that many matches are. Personally I will pass on the game because of that.

I can see with your screenshot, the detections are just a mess. Trojans ? Cryptolocker ? Ransomware ?
It seems it's not really clear.

The way I see it, is the Launcher exe seems like "problematic" from VirusTotal, but did you try an analyze on the Game exe ?
Does it give the same results with your YARA rules ?
If not, then you can play the game by starting the Game exe and not the Launcher exe.

I'm not actually trying to defend or explain how and why the YARA rules actually detected "anomalies" on this specific exe.
But, "maybe", and it's just a theory, maybe the launcher is just generated by the UE project and has the same hash as others UE games, again that's a theory.
That would explain why this file has been analyzed that much but for this specific game it would not be a proof of a malicious behavior.
Again, it's just a theory, I don't know how UE work about its launchers.

hi, where can I find that in virus total?
I usually export with the normal ue5 options, so I don't know if I can change anything, but it would be good to find out if there is a problem

That's strange. In these latest builds, I tried to improve performance. What do you notice? How many fps do you get in the latest builds compared to the previous ones?

I attempted to run it through dx11 via the shortcut that was created and it is still the same outcome. D3D device is lost. What exactly changed from build 82 all the way up? I would think the game would run better considering the performance boosts you put out in the latest updates, Im not sure why this is happening.

I have no idea what it could be, I reduced the textures and some models quite a bit. You could try moving the savegame and put the settings to low to see if that works

Could it be possible to add more hairstyles like bobs, long bobs with and without bangs/fringe and twintails with bangs/fringe and curly/wavy hairstyles?
I mean not rn since it may not be a priority obviously.

That's strange. In these latest builds, I tried to improve performance. What do you notice? How many fps do you get in the latest builds compared to the previous ones?

I used to get like 40-60 FPS but now get 10 FPS for some reason. If this is an isolated issue, it could be due to that Windows update bug. No worries and thank you for your time!

I figured out my problem. My graphics driver is updated, but it says D3D device is lost. I tried going back to the straight up factory given driver that is given when i reset it, which is 27.20.100.9365, and the game actually opened without saying that the D3D device was lost! However, due to the graphics driver being outdated the game was extremely laggy. The recommended graphics driver that the notifications tells me to get is 30.0.101.1340. I am trying to find this exact graphics driver to see if it can fix but its like it fell off the planet I cant find any download links for it even on the manufacturers page, which is Intel. The graphics driver i normally use which is up to date is 32.0.1017026. I'm not sure what to do so I give up. Build 82 aint so bad tho ill make every girl fall in love to 99.

Sometimes it happens to me also, but at random times and for a limited amount of time, like 30/40 secs.

I don't think it's my pc (I mean hardware-side) since it got a ryzen 5 5600x, rx 6700xt and 32GB of ram. (Windows 11 Pro 25H2, last update: KB5068861)
