I ended up saving just as the class started and reloading until I crashed.

You can upgrade them as a rewards for few quests

... but tutoring with Hermione increase INT, confronting snape may increase courage, bringing a girl to the flower is a free stat, so afair.
And ofc, you can increase sexperience, stealth, eye...

Other stats have to be chosen wisely in the beginning... Have fun.

You may need to go to the hospital a second time. For me it usually triggers on the second injury.

The first time I took Ginny but the second time I played it I went to the Christmas event alone. It depends on which girl you get closest to take to the Christmas event.
