This is one game I've been postponing because posts like this keep coming up, for months that I've been watching that thread at least, and I can't tell if it's just the NTR crowd pushing, or the actual direction the game is going. I'm definitely not interested in a game about "two degenerates who fell in love for all the wrong reasons" if that means Vi will be a free use bimbo and Eric will just be jerking to Vi getting fucked, even if he's fucking every other female in the game. Can't stand this porn logic (or lack thereof).
Vi has stated repeatedly that she wants to be "Eric's slut" and Eric has been slowly letting loose her leash. The last chapter went a bit more towards Vi expressing her own desires more. Then the final scene has caused controversy because it blatantly ends on implied NTR that might well be a fake out (within reason, what Vi must have done at minimum would be cheating if we didn't already have precedent for Eric accepting Vi taking an aggressive step in a previous scene).
Personally my view is the final scene is a fake out and Vi will basically show Eric what really happened the moment after Eric utterly annihilates her. Vi is all about inspiring punishment fucking. Then after that Eric will officially consent.
As it is Eric has done far more with other girls than Vi has with other men. Even if that final scene is completely straight Eric pushed more boundaries than Vi in that scene, just that Vi gave consent for Eric while assuming consent the other direction. Also worth noting Eric has done a bunch of stuff he hasn't told Vi about.
Anyway MNG is very aggressive with the girls being sluts. Vi is a wannabe slut who's made her life's mission "anything Eric says". Ari, her best friend, is a mega slut who's determined to push both Vi and Eric's boundaries. Maki, Eric's older step sister, is another mega slut with the same mission for literally everybody. There's a whole lot of pressure on Eric from every side which he mostly goes along with.
Personally I'd wait for ch7 and see if they actually do commit to making that final scene a flat out NTR one or if it ends up being a fake out. The whole nature of the game turns on that IMO.
I don't think Eric will ever be a "jerking in the corner" protagonist. There is absolutely nothing to indicate that and anyone who thinks it has brain damage. Hell even that final scene made clear Eric isn't going to be that. It might well become a game where both parties are basically going wild with consent being implicit and assumed. Vi has a much more of a mega slut vibe than say Alice from SoA. Vi basically wants to explore what she feels with Eric whereas Alice is somebody who's become sluttier because her friends have convinced her that is how to keep Luke.
I played both in their very early stages and haven't gone back since. My notes say that Harmony Haven was focused on cheating, that would be bad if it continued down that line, has it changed since? Did the MC make the FMC his girlfriend yet? When I played, development stopped after their first walk outside, it was very frustrating because either nothing happened, or you got negative points if you had been fooling around with other girls before.
