What are your thoughts on "My True Desire"? I started playing it today, seeing the good reviews, and very shortly had to stop it. First, that scene in the park, where the GF is talking to a guy and he is telling her to "have fun" and that "your BF doesn't need to know" and she seems to go along with it, then, she is off to a party that of course the MC can't join, and what follows is all through phone so.... this is giving me major cucking-disguised-as-sharing vibes.

Why is it so difficult to have the GF shut down guys who approach her to cheat?
Why is it so difficult to have the BF and GF communicate about their wants and needs?
Why is it so difficult to have the BF and GF both participate in the action?
Why is it that they always have to have the MMC feeling ashamed of what he wants, not talking about it to the FMC, and then actively pushing her towards other men? how is that NTS and not NTR? it has all the feelings of shame, humiliation (even if it is self imposed), cheating....

So am I wrong on this? should I stick with it and give it a chance or is my first impression right and this is mostly NTR with a small dose of the BF pushing her to do it so it technically can't be called cheating?

Tbh you guys are prolly right the game is improving as Im playing it. It gave off too many red flags initially - the bastard boss, the best friend of the wife - bbc slut, the cuckold friend of the MC, the plotting of the psychologist, the fact that they don't talk to each other honestly, the cuck website bit - everything pointed at another cuckold abomination of the genre... And yet it feels more relaxed as you play. The dev said this is his first VN, maybe this is why he started with so many tropes. But yeah, it is actually nice that we are allowed to control a lot. I think I'd like a bit more charisma in the MC, the game says he is charismatic, but it is not shown through his interactions. Ah, and small details - can't swim, bad dancer, etc. Man, just how many cuckold tropes are in this game But yeah it's better than its first impression

Why exploring your kinks has to be drama and a psychological combat against yourself? A confident man should have no problem with admitting that sharing turns him on if it really does

of this. I mean, drama happens, I just don't look for it as entertainment. I prefer stories that take a more "what if everything always went well between them - and their kinks", relaxed approach. I'll make an exception if an author gives me drama with a quick and immediate resolution... because drama happens. Humans screw up. And hopefully can bring themselves to admit it, talk about it, forgive, beg forgiveness, and learn in the process. I'm not opposed to one tiny bit of drama in a story if it's quickly overcome, can't be anything of critical importance to the plot, just an episode. If it takes over the plot, it's the usual trope of betrayal/revenge/resentment that feeds a downward spiral of infidelity.

There are tons of ways to create interest and tension in a story if you're not making the relationship the sole focus of your game - that's where games like moonripple, mysteria and more recently windvale win. Strong story keeps you reading, frees the main couple's relationship from having to follow some "curve" with ups and downs to keep things interesting - and lets you rest between porn scenes I mean, I loved Midlife, but fuck, it was exhausting to read. A bit like that piece of high literature that you keep on your bedside and can't read more than a few pages at a time. It's one sex scene, after another, after another, and they just keep coming - and you HAVE to read it all, it's very well written. And also what makes the game good, the author wanted to focus on the MC's life and he did so religiously. No cut-scenes showing what other characters are plotting, ever. What you see is what the MC sees. But demanding it was, for both reader and writer, probably. One can say Midlife Crisis is a porn equivalent of a "theme and variations" classical piece. Great game.

Literally nothing else happens, all the characters are there for that purpose only. It feels like the whole world was created only for this couple to go into open relationship. You can go along or don't - the dev doesn't push you, but if you don't go along then the plot will just stay at the same place. I mean they have no work problems, no ambitions, nothing, they just work and chill, and the only dynamics is if they are opening up to the lifestyle or not.

I mean, in A Couple's Duet of Love & Lust the pure love route was interesting and one of my favorites. Shame the game was abandoned. But it was to say that you absolutely can make interesting dynamics for a couple without swing/ntr/nts/cuckolding

Came across an older post that reminded me of this request of yours - Mystwood Manor might fit the bill, if you don't count family ties off the vanilla content basket. It seems like a setup where you run a hotel and the female staff (part of whom are your family, I guess) start dressing up more slutty and teasing the customers. OP mentions the game seemed to be going towards sex and debauchery, but ended "abruptly" without getting there. Still, might be one to check for the teasing without actual sharing. Author has 2 other games that might take a similar approach.

Last Unity trainer/pimping game I played was The Dancing Inn, that one goes full on sex mode and it's pretty good in the genre. It's a shame that you can't develop your relationship with any of the girls beyond corrupting them. As it stands, they all end up as both your harem and your whores, feels more like a free pass than sharing. But the game has surprising depth of adventures and is one of the few sandbox I think offers a balanced gameplay, streamlined and with minimal grind.

Recently in Masters of Raana I played a quest where you can choose to offer sex with one of your followers to some faction leader in exchange for the release of another girl. It's optional, you have alternative paths, not sure how hard they are, didn't even check... When I told her my decision, she was all "of course I'll fuck him to free my friend, please, tell me you'll watch, master". Pretty cool, wish the game had more scenes with the girls teasing you like that. There are other scattered scenes, including one where you can be pegged by a whore in a brothel. Games where you're unquestionably Da Man make for a good setup for stronger teasing and action, your status just empties it from the humiliation.

I played it till the end of the pool party. I think the general idea is that the dev tries to build tension and anxiety in the player about the gf cheating on him, but then release it by telling what actually happened - it is supposed to be a roller-coaster. In theory it could work, but I didn't like the execution - not because it was cucky (it was not), but because it was silly. The situation with a guy approaching her was more or less okay, but what happened at the party was too unrealistic (people don't behave like that) so it broke my immersion. And the reason he didn't go to the party is because he was asked to look after the dog... Just lol. As if he couldn't take the dog with him or ask someone else to look after it for that day. Like, this is the silliest excuse to not go to a party I can think of.

This game tries to play on the player's anxiety and jealousy. It's closer to some Japanese NTS in that regard.

But it's defo not a cuck game, so far at least. It is just too text-based and boring for my taste. A text-based game should have good writing to be interesting.

Shadow of Ambition - similar to MNGF, but with more sophisticated and deep plot, good pacing.

My True Desire - great quality images, more lighthearted/wholesome approach to NTS genre.

Blurring the Walls - overall high quality text, images, animations, but veeeery slowburn.(blue ball slowburn) Unfortunatly no major scenes yet, but enough to jerk off only with your fantasy.
