No. It's not bad.
Okay then, lemme give some review/comment:
1. I must say it again, your artwork is really great. I usually stay away from [VN], but seeing your artwork make me want to try it anyway.
2. Surprisingly I found "Point n' Click" mechanics in the gameplay, and I personally fucking love it. But this is f95, it usually frowned if its a VN tagged game but there's sand-box element on it. (I might be wrong, lol)
3. You can't change the name of the protagonist, again I might be wrong, but some users will complain about this.
4. I don't want to give review/comment about the story, bcause its so short... so I'll be waiting for the 1st chapter...
again, Good Luck with your game!
1. Glad to hear that, sir!
2. I strongly agree that this point-and-click stuff is a good fit for the game. And surely we'll use it alot in the future.
3. I believe that the ability to set a name for the protagonist is important for full-fledged RPGs but this is not our case. Some characters are better off getting into the habit of shortening his name and mangling it sometimes. Just to enhance the immersive effect of the story and make characters more 'alive'.
4. Thanks for your involvement! If you wish, I can give you early access to the first chapter when it's ready.
I personally prefer vn's without sandbox elements, but like Dikau I too am able to overlook some things if artwork can make up for it. Dikau also mentioned renaming protagonists in vn's/games, which the developer is quick to try to dismiss entirely.
Keeping the original name of the protagonist means I will not immerse myself in the games/vn's, and I am not the only one that feels it is important to be able to immerse oneself in the story. So know that a part of your potential audience will walk away if you try to force them to experience everything like you do. If we are instead given the option to tailor the experience to our liking you are guaranteed more positive feedback from the audience.
Unlike some that walk away if renaming is not built-in, I will try to do the renaming myself with the URM mod. If that proves ineffective I will then try to do a text edit directly in the files. If that does not work I would usually just remove the vn/game and put the project on ignore on this forum.
In the case of this particular project I replaced the first name(Fabian) of the protagonist 237 times and the last name(Brook) 33 times in the script file, but for some reason I now run into a header error when trying to start the vn/game. That made me a bit curious as to what causes that error.
I have 3 options now: I can try to fix that header error myself, post here to see if someone else knows how to solve it, or uninstall and ignore the project now as well as in the future. I would like to fix it either myself or with aid, but if too much time pass with it still unsolved I will simply go with option 3 since there are so many projects out there. It would be a shame if it had to come to that though, as I do like the premise and the theme of this project.
Best regards from the three z's. Happy new year everyone!
