This whole situation turned out to be pretty funny with us! The programmer was the one who suggested adding the "enchantments," and when I was translating it, I described it as if his father was an enchanter and it was all connected to real magic. But when he saw it, he clarified: "I meant it as a joke, like merchants and blacksmiths would 'endow' their goods with magical properties to sell them, even though the items were completely ordinary."
So yeah, that's how it happened. But now there's a certain duality to it. And considering Fabian actually uses magical items, maybe he
is special in that regard after all
