People were shitting on me for saying they will release one update per year because it got popular and they can get away with it, but it seems they are going straight for that 1 update per 2 years route. Honestly cant blame them when there are worse examples out there.

I think you are right, it's at least moving twice as slow as we used to. Then the content is twice as big, so instead 3-4 months its a lot longer...
2024 is a little bit optimistic I would say...

Why is this update taking so long? Are they doing something cool with it?
First, because their supporters voted for longer, more complete updates.
2nd, they had a 2nd kid last Dec.
3rd, he got really sick.
4th, yes, this is one of the largest updates they have done.

Its a good VN, give it a chance and try something different.
I really liked it. The gameplay is quite casual and revolves mostly around fetching quest items and such. It's essentially a really simple point and click adventure game. There's no boring grind to pad out the time you spend in the game. The game world is pretty, and the story is fun too.
