They are pretty transparent how much work there is and how much gets done.

I agree this shouldn't have the abandoned tag but, with the rules as written, it's indeed deserved.
I'm guessing it's meant to signal projects that might be scams, where devs keep posting news but never deliver an actual product, to keep milking patrons.
I personally don't think this is the case here. But other people think otherwise, and I can't say in good faith that they don't have reasons to think so.
I think our system should introduce a new tag: "milking"

They've already officially deep-sixed their own world lore and the promise of gaining multiple cool powers after banging magical chicks ie the one truly unique idea they had. Current prevailing theory: you will get powers from Madeline Goldenbush and Princess Serena and that's it. Madeline's power will be used in a few plot cutscenes and Serena's will be relevant to an endgame cutscene since she will be Final Girl. And that will be it.
It will fall to fan modders to someday add in all the cool powers and magical girls and branching storylines and puzzles that could have been.
It's because the RL porn companies shooting all those repetitive "trapped under the bed by stepbrother" scenes are actual publishing firms that own capital and have access to their own websites and platforms, lol. Even if their capital is just a trailer, a few cameras, some set lighting, and LLC paperwork, it's still at least something. Indie porn artists who are reliant on crowdfunding platforms like patreon are a different matter and have to content themselves with being flogged by censorious, pearl-clutching bean counters desperate to be "advertiser friendly". As far as corporate platforms are concerned there is no difference between someone like Pistacho or Chestnut, vs. you or me. We are all the same type of peon to them.
This is the best way to get around it, ofc. Once the product is finished, wipe all mention of it from the Patreon and provide the unaltered "original intent" version on your website. Trouble is that means hopping off the Patreon gravy train - unless you start a new project!

Early Q1 2025 is my guess. They'd have to accelerate the current pace to even finish polishing phase by mid October. And they've already hinted that playtesting will be another two months. Don't expect it for Christmas.

I would settle for it being a brilliantly written and heart wrenching soliloquy on interracial love with breathtakingly hot sex scenes, Myst series level puzzle solving and Elden Ring quality fantasy combat.
...but it will probably be 8-12 hours of reasonably fun and well drawn romantic visual novel with three CG scenes...

I don't call that finished. He finished what felt like one story arc. The town is so big it screams for more. And most of the girls are a tease with little to no CG. The comparison to WAL is apt: over promise, under deliver.
I think they will go for a long time. Unless the lose interest. If I were them, I would have already been largely finished with the final part. So during updates, doing story line and 'modelling' (for so far you model for hand drawings for the final part. If they lose interest, they could just put up the final update.
Nothing more terrible than a game without an ending.
But of course, no Idea. I also wonder how there kids will look at it, when they are between 10-15 years old. At one moment they will find out what there parents have been up to...

Not true. Playtesting (as in sending the update to the betatesters after everything is completed at least) never took more than a week. And they never hinted this time will be different
