I wouldn't be so sure.
They've been pulling this specific scheme for 1+ years now - show some fictional numbers about the update being 99% ready, then keep adding more new bugs and fixed old bugs to the counter.
But every fraud scheme based on perpetual abuse of trust and naivity needs to eventually give the victims a periodic dose of their drug, just enough to keep the addiction alive.
So yeah, i think they're gonna release the update this month. And it's gonna be total shit with the orc looking like Joaquin Phoenix with silicone tits on steroids. People will hate it and merely endure the update, but since the devs will post some teasers for the next update they are gonna stay hooked for as long as it takes.
I don't know where you find the problem, variety is the spice of life. Also, in the main route you already fuck Lana several times, and there are a couple of scenes with Serena. Not all of them can be small-breasted lolis like Holly, or fairytale princesses like Simmone.
I've already read several comments from users saying that the game has declined because now you're going to fuck an orc, remember, an orc who didn't hesitate to devour a cock that peeked out of a hole and that gave him reasons to want to escape from prison (and what a mess he left behind). I think Gomira could be a very fun character and, for my part, I'm looking forward to seeing how she develops. We're also speculating a bit, you might not even be able to fuck her (can you imagine this update doesn't mean you can't fuck anyone? XD)
Well, I can understand that there are people who don't like a sexy, muscular woman using your penis as a human dildo (of course, if you're the one using the girls as sex toys, then that's fine, I guess XD). But no, I don't agree that the game has lost that momentum you mentioned (well, maybe there are a lot of people who have lost interest because of the delay in this update), in fact, I would say that the introduction of Gomira can make the game more interesting. If you're just looking for animated scenes for a quick wank (which I think is fine), I understand that Gomira doesn't interest you. But if you've stopped to read a little bit of the story and the characters' dialogues, you realize that it's a pretty crazy and fun game. And with Gomira, it can give you a lot of crazy situations.
Damn, I'm getting excited, I've been looking forward to this update ever since I saw that scene in the prison (well, I mean, when I played it there was no talk of an update dedicated to it, I mean I was looking forward to them adding something at some point in Gomira)
I also have to say that I've read a lot of complaints here about the delay, but for me, and others like me, we have to wait a couple more weeks until some good Samaritan who understands Renpy makes a translation patch.

I liked her scenes but we will see if her character is fun/likeable ,about the momentum it did leave abit aldo if i look on this thread it's evident that the game has much intrest (even if it's hating they indirectly help the developers with that) for me personally will play update because i like the story and on top of that it's FREE
Maybe you were too early, it's still stuck on dec 3.

The update exists and it's under external testing. Unless major bugs show up, it will be released for patrons tomorrow.

This was never in question, it's obvious that whatever people will get will "never gonna be worth a whole ass 2 year wait" because the reasons for the long wait were never related to a proportional increase in terms of quality and content but to a couple of events (or excuses if you prefer) that lead to such a long period of development.
Yes, it's possible that the update may end becoming the biggest we got so far but you would need to be a hell of an optimist to expect much more than that.
It's between getting happy with whatever you will get or be absolutely disappointed by it, but in the end of the day, it's still true that you will only get what was "promised" and (probably) not much else.
