Both of my games are 3D but that's not about preference, I'm not a digital artist, so I took what I could get. I consider Good Girl Gone Bad to be one of the best games out there. The art is sexy, and the writing is top notch. My favorite game is 3D, but it's not the best art out there. Coceter Chronicles uses a lot of basic models without much editing at all. However they are sexy characters because of the writing. What I'm saying is, good art is nice. Good writing is better.Hi there dear people. I'm asking this mainly for personal reasons and I'd really appreciate a straight honest opinion. Thanks a bunch.
Very nice one. I do agree with this. I think you've to build a good balance between those two factors. What I'm saying is, good art is nice. Good writing is better.

Everything related to 3D in this case yes. I'm actually more a 2D Artist which is why I'm happy with this poll result at the end. I've bin working with Cinema 4D since years meanwhile too, however, It's a pain in the backside to render if you have over 50 Projects open. I've tried batch rendering but that solution was worse than I thought for several reasons, overall quality included. What about real-time 3D? Are we mainly talking about pre-rendered 3D images, or 3D models animated in real-time inside the game engine? As far as my preference, I like it all if it's good art. If it's bad art, I don't.
IMO the Daz models often look plastic and wrong, I can't explain better, they just don't look very realistic. Illusion's are more stylized, so there's no problem in not looking human.2DCG.
Only times when 3DCG looks good enough is when it's high quality cel shaded render, obviously anime-like. All those Daz3D models I saw so far look weird and plastic as fuck, have to see decent looking one in a porn game. Then again, some people use Illusion games for getting 3DCG and effects are much better. So I guess most commonly used Daz3d models just look bad.
In only 3 honey select games would I agree with that statement. Most look like melted asian homunculi. I agree that all 3D models exist within the Uncanny Valley, however I accept that fact. For my own projects I would have taken either 3D or 2D however I would have been more picky with a 2D artist. With 3D it's easy to adapt the environments to the story, however, my first tale takes such a serious tone that it simply wouldn't work with a similar art style to popular 2D titles like Summertime Saga or Snow Daze.IMO the Daz models often look plastic and wrong, I can't explain better, they just don't look very realistic. Illusion's are more stylized, so there's no problem in not looking human.
To be fair, I don't care if models look "human" or "very realistic", just make them look good. I have seen better screenshots from Skyrim than some CGs in 3DCG games and they render those scenes to get best quality...IMO the Daz models often look plastic and wrong, I can't explain better, they just don't look very realistic. To be fair, the screenshots you're seeing from Skyrim have just as much TLC going into them.To be fair, I don't care if models look "human" or "very realistic", just make them look good. Valid argument. Though, there is always a case of gameplay videos and just playing it, and my rig may not be a beast, but it still looked damn nice.To be fair, the screenshots you're seeing from Skyrim have just as much TLC going into them.
