What does it take to make you Ignore a Game thread?

What tags or game elements make you outright ignore a game on this site (ie: going into the thread and choosing ignore so it doesn't show up under Latest Updates and searches)
Just curious, I really only have a single tag that when I see it, and confirm that's all it is, I go straight to ignore to keep out of search rotation.

I use Latest Updates to find games, and rarely use the search feature, so I don't need the ignore function for game threads.
Actually that's closer to what I meant, more Latest Updates than search, games are updated REGULARLY, so not seeing the same games you don't care about showing up under latest updates is what ignore is for in my opinion. I'll adjust my text to reflect that, thank you!

I ignore every game thread where i have no interest in playing that game; whether it's from the tags, art style, or any other reason. Would be nice if more people would do this instead of complaining in the game threads about how they don't like X.

I really just ignore a vast amount of games actively based on the first impression I get from the title or banner, I don't need to filter them specifically. the triggers tend to be superficial snap decisions, but in reality based on experience on the context.

like if I see a woman's name in the title I auto-skip without thinking because it's gonna be a female protagonist. if the banner only shows an 18yo child, I skip it because there's not gonna be any interesting adult women. japanese banner also gets instantly skipped for the undereaged models, unless the title specifically implies some more mature content. I mean if I see 'HAHA' I will at least check it out. but even for most of those the 'mom's' almost always look underaged. the absolute lowest bar for me is the story needs to revolve mostly around adult women.

but I doubt there's anything general to learn from that. I'm sure the same exact things are the 'must have' selling points for many. but I definitely do discard 99% of games even before clicking the thread open. next filter is the previews, but the reasons are largely same. if they don't focus mostly on adult women I'm not gonna bother. because even if the game is tagged 'milf', focusing on the young girls in previews already tells me that's what the dev is interested in, and the stock mom is there just to add the tag.

tag-wise there's of course also a bunch of deal breakers, but it's not the main filtering mechanism I have. the tags get pretty much covered in the first impression already. after thousands of games you just tend to know from the look of it.

oh, many of those 'haven't I already seen 5 games with this name?' ones also get instantly skipped. like anything with 'life' in the title. the reason why is harder to explain, but it's one of those things where you never get anything positive from the benefit of a doubt so you eventually stop wasting your time. it is NOT the renders nor is it the cliche setting. most of the best games are absolutely filled with cliches and tropes.

All HTML games, gay games, parodies, as well as almost all the Japanese stuff.

The rest depends on art style, and the type of content I enjoy. I do search by tags sometimes in case some games have slipped through my fingers.

I really dig the new interface with the "latest" option, a real time saver.

When I use the gay tag, and find a banner filled with girls with oversized boobs. I mean, I'm looking for a gay game (meaning: MEN with dicks. Futas and MTF trans don't qualify into my download history) not a balloon simulator.

So, it's an instant ignore for me.

Buncha stuff fits here, really. Here's a short list of some of the stuff that makes me outright ignore a game:

Really really bad art/Honey select at all (Tbh though, if the art is original, it's gotta be pretty bad for me to just never give a game a chance in the first place).
Gay tag.
Furry tag without incest.
Obviously Japanese game with generic hentai art without lots of tags of stuff I like.
Anything I know from previous experience is stupid/terrible.
Games with a female protagonist and the lesbian tag and no groping or exhibitionism or rape tag.
Any of those various well-animated games that look and sound like incest games but are adamantly against incest and don't have patches (Being a DIK, WVM, The DeLuca Family, et cetera. Fuck that shit. If you're making a slice of life/life sim/life whatever game, it should have incest in it as far as I'm concerned).
Anything with a title that sounds like it's trying to be an idiom in English and fails, and whose description is clearly written by somebody not fluent in English.
Herm/trans anything. If I'm honest, it's not a hard pass from me, except almost all those games are exclusively futa stuff and that's just not my scene. Same with lesbian stuff: it's not a turn-off unless that's all there is.

Note: you probably have different likes and dislikes from mine, so your list of what you ignore is probably different. That's totally fine! But this is the stuff that makes me not take a second look at a game.

You don't it blackens the image of game out to where you see a black square where it should be. out, Its my 2nd favorite button on the site I use it often. Just seeing that black box means its nothing I'll miss.

Been around here for a few years now, but only just bothered putting a thread on my ignore list for the first time today.
Saw this thread, remembered "oh yeah, that's a thing." and went looking around to find something to ignore just out of spite.
Cause I'm a petty bastard. :ROFLMAO:

I use the ignore function when I find games that at first glance look like something I'd really like but upon further inspection are just not for me and for games I just really don't ever want to even bother giving another chance to again.

I used to never use it but after accidentally wondering into game pages for games I'd go out of my way to avoid, due to eventually completely forgetting about them or not recognizing them due to new previews, I started using it to ignore specific games. I don't ever go out of my way to avoid specific tags though since I'll sometimes find games that I consider good in genres(types of games) I really don't like.

Edit:
Oh wait these tags are rare but I guess as a rule of thumb I try to ignore scat/piss and guro tags I don't think they have official tags, but I sometimes see them under genre, I ignore them if there's not too much but if they're a main focus for a game that catches my eye I'll hit the ignore button and never look back.

I'm very open to most genres and tags, and there's nothing I won't try usually. The two things that make me ignore most game threads (short of a few) are sandbox and bad English/grammar issues in the title/banner/summary. I'll play well-done sandbox games (Summertime Saga, etc.), but such a massive majority of them are so badly done from pacing to grinding to UI. Every single one of them feels like "Put in an hour of grinding for five minutes of lewdness". That latter is self-explanatory. Bad English in the title or banner? That game's going to have bad grammar everywhere else. Doesn't matter if you're making a book/movie cover, album cover, or anything else. Those are the first thing people look at, and if you leave bad grammar there, it'll be pretty telling as to the quality of everything else.

While I had a lovely little shitpost planned that started with "Wait, Ignore Threads?!" and ended with the good ol' explody Scanners.gif, I'm opting out from going with it for the same reason I don't actively ignore threads (or people for that matter): too much work.

It's not like I give every game the time of day mind you, but I find if after the first impression I'm having a "Meh, not for me" feeling, I can just close the tab knowing that I'm likely to remember it the next time it hits the top of the update list. If I don't, chances are it's due to enough changes having taken place to maybe give it a second look, as maybe there's a new lady with the right amount of badonka in her donk that makes it worth a download. Adding extra clicks that might exclude future fine asses does not seem worth it.

Specific tags aren't really an issue either, because as much I would like say otherwise, even my porn rules have the occasional exception. I am a deeply closeted panda after all, and there are days where I am not looking for the proudest of wanks.

Sometimes I use the tag search function or I just remember the names of the games I regularly check up on, but when I go looking for new stuff it's always from the Latest Updates page. I don't bother searching individual threads because it's not compact enough. It also allows me to skim through and check the images with a mouseover. It's not so much the tags that I look at, since a game could have a billion tags and you'll never see some of them (Love and Sex: Second Base, Seeds Of Chaos, etc.), but the overall content.

  • Shitty match three Bejeweled clones, Minesweeper clones, and sliding tile puzzles. Fuck these lazy things. They're often asset flip garbage scraped from Steam that's not worth the effort it took to upload.

  • 3DCG games. I can't get over the uncanny valley. Not to mention the stiff poses, weird rigid faces, and vacuum formed clothes really kill the mood.

  • Untranslated games. Porn games tend to be more narrative focused than other games, so not being able to read them kind of makes them suck as porn. I can just go look up still images without context if I want to, with better results and less time wasted.

  • Shit that's clearly machine translated. Seeing onomatopoeias translated as "bread" and "handsome chicken" is funny the first time you see it. After that it's just annoying, and becomes moreso as time goes on. Especially when it ruins an otherwise promising looking game.

  • Games that are clearly inferior clones of other games because the dev wanted to catch a bandwagon and squeeze as much out of a fad as possible.

I didnt know there was an ignore feature.. and Ill probably forget about so.. nothing. I only use search to find games by the same devs or if I know the game name (or remember part of it). The latest updates UI is really good though I really wish it had tag exclusion.
