Opening a game and getting immediately blasted in the face with either music, moans, or both at absurd volume.
Pick one or the other. If you're bugging devs to add animations and they don't have the skill for it, all you're doing is pressuring them to create more bad animation; which is so pernicious because so many devs think it's a bullet point feature that they need to include, and almost all of them do so poorly.Bad or no animations
I agree with you, but it also bothers me when a game doesn't offer a full screenA game that opens in fullscreen by default. Serious pet peeve, and I wish devs would stop doing it.
See, I mostly agree with you, except this one. Absolutely horrible advice. "Hey, you're not good at this yet, so instead of getting better at it, it's better to let a machine do it for you."*MS Paint-level art. (If this is where you stand art-wise, then for the love of everything, learn how to AI.)
I couldn't care less whether you agree with me or not my dude.See, I mostly agree with you, except this one. Absolutely horrible advice. "Hey, you're not good at this yet, so instead of getting better at it, it's better to let a machine do it for you."
It's not about prejudices or problems. Your advice for someone trying to learn and cultivate a skill is "you suck, let a program do it for you."I couldn't care less whether you agree with me or not my dude.
I don't have any prejudices against or problems with high-effort AI art, and that's that.
Thinking that AI art requires no skill is indeed bonkers mentality. You should fix it my dude. What kinda bonkers mentality is that?
Being an 'algorithm whisperer' takes about as much skill as being a 'psychic'. Sure there is skill involved (cold reading), but it's not what you think (literally talking to the dead or reading minds). Throwing text prompts at a incomprehensible black box dozens of times to get something close to what you think you want and then editing the shit out of it to fix its cavalcade of flaws is a skill, but probably not in the way you'd like. I mean, if you're that skilled at image manipulation, why can't you just do something original yourself? And if you can't image manipulate yourself out of a wet paper bag, all you've done is encourage another sap to gorge on the troth of venture capitalist ghouls and global spanning art theft. Plus there are other options, like our fine tradition of machinima and appropriating games assets for new creative uses, meaning even someone with a potato can setup a modded Honey Select and generate images.Thinking that AI art requires no skill is indeed bonkers mentality. You should fix it my dude.
