What's up with all the female protag games lately?

No, I don't care if people make a female MC. It's that suddenly there seemed to be such a rise in them that for a couple days I couldn't find many options that weren't female MC.

Since I don't care for most female protag games, their increase meant a reduction in potential titles for me to play.

Another example of games I'm seeing more of are the ones with the anime looking 3d cartoon looking models... there seem to be more and more of those, and they're another option that is probably more dead to me than female protag.

I'd be bummed if suddenly all the games were anime models, female protag, furries, gay, futa, etc... because I'd be left with nothing to play and actually really enjoy.

As the other guy said: There's plenty of "useless, hyper dick male PC" games out there. They're a dime a dozen.
It's just more likely that they happen to have a bad score, so you don't see them in the "Recent" tab. Or, they are too new to even show up. Though, I guess the quality might be an issue for you?

If so, I can assure you that A LOT of the female NPC games lack that too xD
There's actually very few female PC games out there. Most are NPC games. Which, are basically just male PC games with extra steps. Though, since many devs can't even tell the difference... it would be hard to find the female NPC games among the female PC games as they're jammed into the same category.

I can chime in on a few things here.
1: You'd be surprised on the MASSIVE amount of people that think "If something I personally enjoy isn't being made, it means it is UNDER ATTACK AND WILL NEVER BE MADE AGAIN!". To clarify: I am not saying the OP suggests this. But this is a VERY common mindset within porn. Especially within maledom porn. I'm not sure why, but these people see it as a binary. You EITHER make maledom porn. OR you are trying to bring the downfall of mankind and eradicate all their maledom porn. I've spoken with dozens of devs that have run into these people. For some reason, they view anything non-maledom, as a direct threat. Very "with us or against us". In short: They view ANY female protagonist game as a maledom protag game that was STOLEN from them. As "That is what they WOULD have made instead!". It's a very bizzare set of people... Again: NOT saying OP is one. But I felt it relevant to point out, as your satirical quote IS actually something that is very real.

2: The filters are very... lacking. Even if you'll find a decent chunk of content. A LOT of it will be inaccurate or lying.
Most commonly ironically, the "female protag" and "lesbian" ones.
And wasting hours on a game that doesn't even have what it promises can be very... infuriating.

3: Being picky IS basically what porn is about.
Like... I'm not specifically searching for a ex: Gloryhole game... for it to NOT contain gloryholes...
I've many a time told to stop being picky because I expect lesbians in my lesbian games that are advertised as having lesbians xD If I order a steak, and get a plate with 0 meat, then yeah: I'm gonna complain xD Actually being picky would be if I play a game with actual lesbians, and I whine about it not having a specific personality+hair color or whatever.

If you like A games and deslike B games than just keep playing the games you like and ignore the games you hate, the dev's are free to make whatever they want and you are free to play what you want.

I dont mind Female protagonist games, if they really are games, not scripted scenarios to get fucked and raped. And that's what most female protagonist games are. There are really few games, where you can actually have choices.

Because I either don't want to play as a woman (and I don't care if you personally can and don't self insert. I tend to, so they're not for me), and I don't generally care for stories written for women, just like I don't care to watch TV shows made for women, because I'm not a woman.

If you're fine with that, great. More power to you. But it doesn't work for me, so when my feed starts getting drowned in games I'm not interested in, it bums me out, because that means more devs working on games I won't play, and less devs potentially working on games I would play. Like I said, I'm just as bummed seeing more and more of those 3d anime cartoon looking ones too, because I just can't get into them either.
