I'm rather failing to see how Franco's Spain is any more relevant here than, say, China (in state of active civil war until the end of '49, heavy-handed dictatorships in both mainland and Taiwan thereafter) or the newly established Soviet satellites in East-Central Europe (which got to enjoy Stalinist repression until the old bastard died in '53) or any number of other Unfortunate Places To Be In around the world those days...? (As an aside Franco stopped being stupid about the economy in '59 and over the next few decades the country's economic growth actually rivaled Japan's.)Yes, it was the "Golden Age" of easy living for the common people during WW2 and immediately after, especially in Franco's Spain and especially for the lost childrens of Francoism.
