What kind of games do you think would be good to release these days? What kind of games are you missing and would you like to see more of?

What industry?
Almost all western porn games are created by what are essentially just fans of those type of games, most of whom barely make any real money through what is basically a donation system (Patreon), because we lack a real distribution system for porn games.
There is no industry.

What at least would help to increase interest and normalization of porn games would indeed be more non-creepy vanilla/romance games.

Some sort of revenge rape type scenario or a thirsty Yandere corruption/blackmail game.

Maybe something with a femboy? Exhibitionism, urination, domination... prostitution?

A vanilla athletic tomboy steamy summer romance game.

An insect game about a female cockroach who sucks and fucks your cock.

A SpaceX Mars holiday resort alien sex slavery adventure. (Think Jean-Luc Picard except he's down to fuck)

is that true though? I mean if you think about non-porn stories, would you rather watch a wholesome family-oriented lifetime movie, or one about a mad scientist kidnapping women, creating human-animal hybrids of them and building his own 'utopia' where he's farming adenochome from their brain to make himself live forever?

non-creepy stories are very boring even without porn. I don't think the creepiness is working against us but rather the opposite. with all the incompetence going around, our creepy stories still manage to interest people. at least we have something to tell.

For me, none from the above list. I do, however, feel that the "small boobs with curvy body" niche is definitely a rarity in the realm of these adult games/VN's, despite the body type in question being fairly common and certainly natural in real life. I really liked Holly from My Fallen Angels for the very reason that I prefer such a physique in women.

There are VN's outside of the ones on here. Many popular VN's on Steam and Itch for example. Including adult games, mostly 2D ones.

But as for what genre the 3D adult game "industry" lacks. Well, pretty much everything.

- Story based games in general.
- Female MC games that aren't about her being corrupted.
- Non-White MC games.

and so on.

I am not missing anything. I don't need to see more of anything.

The best game to release these days is the game that the developer wants to play.

If this is your way of testing the waters to develop your own game - what kind of entertainment would you like in a game? Whatever that is - you make it. That way you'll have a personal investment in making it - to see your vision become a reality and to play a game custom made for you (by you).

There will be a market for it. It could be small. But small is relative. There are millions of adult game players in the world. If even 1/10 of one percent played your game, that's at least 6,000 people (6 million registered accounts on F95, alone) but closer to 100,000.

Really wouldn't call a hodgepodge of hobbyists an 'Industry'. And that's a rather limited selection there. Devs will just continue releasing works that revolve around their personal interest and fetishes, and hope to gather an audience. Don't really see a crowd screaming "we want X" changing anything. Instead, you be the change you want to see! Make that game you want to make but keep putting it off for various reasons.

Yes, for the "normalization of porn games" like I wrote.

I mean if you think about non-porn stories, would you rather watch a wholesome family-oriented lifetime movie, or one about a mad scientist kidnapping women, creating human-animal hybrids of them and building his own 'utopia' where he's farming adenochome from their brain to make himself live forever?
(In matters of taste, there can be no disputes) ;)
Generic movies with generic everyman stories will always be popular.
Let's take music as an example, even though many people get upset about it how bland and generic it is, pop music has still the largest share of the market.

non-creepy stories are very boring even without porn. I don't think the creepiness is working against us but rather the opposite. with all the incompetence going around, our creepy stories still manage to interest people. at least we have something to tell.
Sexual media affects people more than most other stuff, and consequently unusual kinks are more likely to repel the average gamer and possibly put them in a typically defensive stance, because, among other things, society tends to frown upon sexual content especially in games.

Look how western people freaked out about . So much that the japanese Publisher/Developer Illusion Games removed references to the game from their own website and ceased distribution of the game. Even though japanese games have their own successful market and in most cases they don't even give a shit about the western market.

Such reactions and effects are bad if you want to establish an accepted porn games industry, which was the point of the my sentence you quoted. ;)

There are VN's outside of the ones on here. Many popular VN's on Steam and Itch for example. Including adult games, mostly 2D ones.
Which are mostly non-porn VNs or nees an adult patch or non-western.
But almost all western porn games can also be found here (Except maybe those simple puzzle games that reward you with lewd pictures, but I wouldn't call them porn).
And just because these games exist doesn't mean there's an industry. They mostly were still made by single probably inexperienced devs as a hobby.

Also I'd like to reiterate that I am talking about western porn games.
Japanese games, for example, have their own established market and what officially makes its way to us is a fraction of what is out there. And these usually have rather mild themes.

It's 1987, Aberdeen, Washington. Kurt Cobain sits in a home made booth in front of his parents' house, handing out leaflets. "We have a band!" they read. "Which genre of music do you think the industry lacks?" And people can vote for Funk, Country, Rock and Jazz. Later that evening Kurt will take the voting slips and start counting them, eagerly waiting for the numbers to choose his musical path for him!

Write the game you want to play.

A male protagonist vanilla/romance game without a creepy voyeuristic mc.

- Female MC games that aren't about her being corrupted.
- Non-White MC games.
Yeah 100%

The vanilla, slice-of-life, family (;)) fun genre is what I want more of. Just with better writing and art that's at the cutting edge. It isn't like it doesn't exist in great quantities already, its that I want more, because I, and many others, like the genre and don't get tired of it.

Except this poll is written as though the metaphorical options are Soft Rock, Hard Rock, Indie Rock, and Punk Rock. It's reasonable to ask whether there are impactful tropes currently missing in this space, but this poll doesn't even begin to imagine those existing.

for me Male Protagonist game with Love/Romance build up with deep storyline , with Optional Sharing paths with the Li so rare to see combo in game like this.
