Hey just wanted to start a discussion on which games made you take a step back and say, damn! This is a good game! and why.
For me, in no particular order:

• Big Brother by Darksilver - "obviously" This game is a must play. Graphics are amazing, the girls are hot and the story is fun. Although at times I do feel like i'm just wandering around the house with nothing to do. To all the DEVS out there, if your game has reached a wall in development, end the game until the next update. Don't let me aimlessly play the game thinking there's more. I don't need that stress in my life.
  
• Dating My Daughter by MrDots - Something about this game I really love. The daughter is hot and I like the story but omg the progression is sooo slow. This dude is milking that monthly subscription. Some of the camera angles don't make the daughters ass look normal. I know he's going for a big booty but come on man, you broke my immersion with that wack ass.
  
• My Girlfriend's Amnesia by Daniel K - I'm still playing this game and I love the replay factor of this game, but oh my lord do i hate walking around towns now. Fast travel please! I know he's trying to make a world here but come on, i'm holding down the arrow keys more than my dick.
• Dreaming with Elsa by MortzeArt - Wooo I freaking love the story in this game, freaking brilliant, my advice is to go the romantic path first and then replay going the dark route. There's one scene that comes up in the light path that will blow your mind, I was fully taken back and said "oh shit! That's some good game design!" Handjob in the dark. How do you do a HJ in the dark, play this game and you will see a master at work.
• Pandora also by MortzeArt - This dev is amazing, i love his stuff. His story telling is on point, his art is GOOD and the replay value is top notch. Lara Croft looking character is hot!
• Man of the house by Faerin - I just started playing this game and I must say there's something here as well. Great potential. I like a lot of things about this game but watching the dot travel across the map.. dude come on, pointless. imo.
• Pusooy.net games - are all great! Beach Party is amazing. Castle Gravenstein is amazing. Farmers Daughter is amazing. Check out this guys website out now and play those games! Duamn. Art, story, gameplay, interaction. On point.
• Epoch-art.com - not so much a game as an interactive story but he's one of the top tier devs out there hands down. All his shit is the highest quality on the naked cg net you can find.
• Lessonofpassion - games for sure, a special mention to them. They've been around a long time and have made some killer hits. Haven't played their games in awhile but if you've never played any of their stuff you're missing out on some hidden gems.
• bradseroticweek - google it, the art is decent but the story is deep. Multiple endings, multiple paths. Crazy ambitious. Been in development for years.

Anyways those are my list of games and a little reason why I like them. I hope you can point me towards some other hidden gems that I haven't come across yet. OH and the "Bible Black" game but that's based off of a hentai show so i don't know if i should include it.

Let's talk about some games and what makes them great, or suck.

Shit I meant porn games, my bad... None porn games for me is Horizon Zero Dawn, that game is tight. Assassins Creed Origins made me want to replay Black Flag, which says something. I heard Nier was great.

I'm gonna go old school. If you're interested in making a landmark game, you need to check out School Dreams 1 and 3, Meteor, and Tesliss Equation by Goblinboy. That will probably lead you down a rabbit hole into other AIF games, so I won't make a long list, but I'll add Pervert Action Future by BBBen because it relates to your planned game. Then play Dating Ariane. These are the cornerstones of successful adult games that built the genre.

Then skim through some of the half-assed demos that get posted here and get pissed on. Avoid those mistakes. Then skim through some of the games that started off "meh" and grew. Man of the House is a prime example of a game where the creator stuck to his guns, crowd-sourced some details but stayed true to his original vision despite criticism that it was just a copy of other successful games, interacted with his growing fans in a positive way, and now is working on a very popular game. There are other examples of successes and failures, and you sound like you want to learn from them. Then... just do it. Shoot your shot. You can be happy without being rich, or rich without being happy, but you can be both!

I mentioned this in your other thread, but especially since you like DMD I'll suggest My Sweet Neighbors. I think it's better than DMD by a mile, but uses the same mechanics.

I'm over BB and MotH but there are a few games in their format I still really like. View of Family has some unique models, the little sister is like my favourite ever character model in any game I've played. Someone else mentioned dreams of desire, same idea as BB and MotH only with mind control and better writing. You may also enjoy A perverted family, it's in the same vane but totally on its own in many ways.

Depraved awakening which was also mentioned in your other thread is pretty great. The story revolves around you as a private eye and the shit you get into. Very sexy game so far.

Wicked choices, I mentioned to you that I'm gonna be supporting ASL3dPro as soon as I can afford it and this game is why. It might be the best written porn game I've played. It has a pretty interesting plot and lots of fetish/kink content.

Dreaming of Dana the other Dev I mentioned by name, Ptolemy, is behind this masterpiece. He's one of the few writers I've seen who can write women who are proactive in their relationships. These women aren't 1 dimensional sluts like Elena from DMD, but are fully realised characters with their own motivations, choices, and experiences.

Intimate Relations Ptolemy again and damn is this game great. Still early in development this might be one of the projects I look most forward to seeing more of. Character models look great, the mechanics are awesome, and it even inspired me in a way to how I'll make my characters behave.

Someone mentioned dual family already, but I really like what this game is doing, it's almost like a deep dive into the incest game genre that exposes it's depravity. The game is kinda depressing, but it's very interesting.

If I think if more I'll come back

I forgot what may be my favourite game, even if it isn't quite as good as some of the others I've mentioned.

I Love Daddy - in this you play as the daughter who's falling for the titular daddy. On the surface it's a pretty typical, even farcical, incest game. But the backstory that is revealed as you play through the different endings is so gd interesting. I seriously think I might contact the Dev after I'm finished with my game and see if he would be interested in making a sequel if I wrote it.

No game on Patreon made me say that as they are all unfinished. But there are 3 games that did that:
- School Dreams, School Dreams 3 and Meteor by Goblinboy - I've never played a game even half as immersive as these 3. SD 3 and Meteor are both one the reasons we have rendered games right now and they were brilliant in every aspect. Damn I so miss these AIF games where I could even look at my feet if I wished to. Good old times

My own completely subjective Top 6:

6) Incest Story 2: Most parts of the game are utterly forgettable, but the mom licking the sister's pussy is so hot, it's still worth mentioning. The scene with the business woman was also fine, as far as story telling goes, but the artwork of the protagonist ruined most of it.
5) Lust and Power: Incest corruption with possibly the best artwork in any porn game. Especially the mom in her maid outfit is extremely hot. Also has a story worth mentioning. Also by far the best male protagonist in any M/S incest game, as he is clearly a grown man with zero childlike-features. For my taste, the only downside is the complete lack of lesbian scenes: Let Jessica dominate the mom with a strapon-dildo and the game is perfect!
Edit: And bring cheats back! It's porn game for fuck's sake, I don't care for the economic and combat aspects.
4) Ladies' Superleague of Lesbos: Lesbian game with an MMORPG-like inventory. Very early concept, still with a lot of error, but the idea is just to good, not to mention it here.
3) Inevitable Relations: Truely hot lesbian incest games with great artwork.
2) A Milf's Tale: Great Artwork and lot of decisions to make for the player. There is a lesbian and straight route for both the protagonist and her daughter (I only played the lesbian story lines).
1) After Invasion: A powerful lesbian dominating her hot mom, sister and milf neighor in a dystopian world. Also one of the very few porn games that have a story worth mentioning. My clear all-time favorite, when it comes to porn games.

Honorable mentions:
Sims 4 with a Whicked Whims: Not technically a porn game, but a porn mod for a normal game, it has some of the hottest action imaginable in a game.
Aion, Tera and Black Desert Online: No sex scenes or sexual story lines, but great lingerie skins and in the case of Aion and BDO great character creators for making the most beautiful female characters imaginable.

Depraved Awakening Great story great Art with a heavy noir feel to it. Have always been a lover of games with a noir feel to them. Also Kara no shojo series Japenese style vn great art great story again has a heavy noir feel to it
