Also true but a lot of the people she burned had it coming, apart from the Tarlys Varys and the population of Kings LandingIt was rushed due to the lack of episodes but she always loved burning people.

To be true ... this game was always supposed to be this "- new animations for brothel in Ned story"
As that is the first and only straight forward scene MC gets in Kings Landing right off the bat.
Then again ... cersey already chopped off Kings Landing population with her mountain yager and then blew all of the people she'd amassed for a show down with the sparrow ... to which she literally flipped the bird and ran off, choosing political terrorism, mass murder, taking Kings Landing hostage!
If you follow jamie's dialogues after that ... he knows full well this is the mad king all over again.
Kings Landing was always under siege even before the coup and the living fire ... the sparrows were assassinating people in the streets with no control, putting nobles in prison, opposing the guards.
Once the hired hordes poured into the city, there was no populace to save ... everyone was already besieged by the mad king ruler - cersey all but pawned her people for the iron bank money.

I guess it was the case of her actually being a Targaryen. The people always spoke of Targaryens being tyrants, which she always strived to prove wrong. She wanted all to change ... just like the cities she used to rule ... she wanted redemption for the masses, a clear confine of her doctrine for all that worshiped her and a true winner perspective for her allies. All that is now ... all kingdoms abandoned to civil unrest, no more clear morals -> half the new rulers are killers and backstabbers in their own right, aria is a clear assassin most inclined to chop heads, bron is forever lost to society, no hold on any clear doctrine from him there, sansa is a substitute cruel unforgiving masochist that sees no avenue for rebuilding or rekindling the common folk, john has abandoned everyone and is now the next ice king from beyond the wall, the small council is a farce off that Kings Landing one, no real stakes and no actual human perspective, tyrion can go back to his old ways of lording them flies and concocting clever petty plots to ... well, there are no stakes left, everything is in shambles.
