Why do mothers in almost all games love to do yoga?

That's precisely what makes them cheap and easy. You don't need any character development, just have whoever you want to see the tits of play a game instead. It requires little to no setup, and zero character growth or development. It's an Easy Button for lewd content.
Not every scene in a game has to be about character development, if a player already has 3 time periods to develop the character what is wrong with giving them one period where they develop their relationships? or use the character development they have already done? What is the point of developing a character in a porn game is not to lead to the erotic scenes / sex scenes?

Now a good writer can use these scenarios as a vector for character development, but most simply do not, and use them merely as an excuse for some low-effort titillation.
A good dev makes their game enjoyable.

Literally anything else that takes some effort and isn't just an overused trope. I mean, c'mon. The truth or dare thing in particular is so played out that one game (Shy Girl by ShyGirlArt) got caught literally plagiarizing the entirety of the dialogue for their obligatory truth or dare scene from another game (Our Red String by Eva Kiss).

Want to make it different? I dunno, maybe use a different game to mix things up? That's what they did in Pale Carnations, and it worked wonderfully. Plus, because that game has some of the best dialogue and character development here on F95Zone, the whole scene felt earned in a way it largely does not in 95% of other games.
Ah you see, this is the mistake you are making, you are taking your tastes and a few others and saying they should be applied in general. Not everyone wants to "earn" a scene, not everyone wants great dialog and there is nothing wrong with trying to find a balance between those and just fun sexy scenes.

Oh, I do say it, and I get a ton of shit for it. People here love to defend their favorite garbage.
Now you see, that is uncalled for. Is there a need to use insults when talking about porn games and what people like? Hacks, garbage, you don't know most of these dev's so why take it to such a hostile level?

The go-to signifier of a hack developer is low-effort. So, poorly farmed out AI art, incomprehensible machine translated dialogue, being awash in simple grammatical errors, a game that is nothing but played out tropes, or a trend-chasing copy cat (e.g. the umpteenth isekai harem or Naruto parody). Tryhard edgelords also go right into this category, as do games that float entirely on their specific kink with little effort put into anything else.
1. So there is "good" farmed out AI art?
2. Translations are 1. done by fans. 2. Done by a company. 3. The dev has volunteers. 4. a person sells their translation services. etc. etc. very rarely do dev's do their own translations.
3. The issue with grammatical errors is to be expected.
4. Played out tropes is a persons opinion, you might feel they are played out while others might feel there are not enough.
5. "trend-chasing copy cat" often lead to gems so not really valid.
6. Those last two make no sense, "Tryhard edgelords" <-- no clue. As for specific kink games, I can't understand how anyone could complain about a femdom game ONLY having femdom in it or and BDSM game only having BDSM in it, they are catering to their community.

You will also find that there are people who want more kinks / less kinks, more LI'S / less LI's, more story / less story, who is the dev supposed to listen too?

You keep mentioning low effort but there are people enjoying the games you call garbage so the dev's there are putting in enough effort for those players. Those game just happen to not be for you.
There is nothing wrong with adding a yoga scene to reward players, to further a story or to give the player a break from the grind etc. While some might think it is over used, it fits, it makes sense (refer to my reply about penises on jogging moms) and moms in tights are great.

Okay. So you enjoy easy slop. That's fine, but it doesn't stop it from being slop. Not everything needs to be well written with interesting characters, but I have little interest in poorly written boring strangers getting naked for funsies.

It also does NOTHING to disprove my original assertion, that these go-to tropes are commonly the tools of low effort hacks. Again, not everyone who uses them is a hack, and at this point I think you're failing to notice that distinction on purpose.

Now you see, that is uncalled for. Is there a need to use insults when talking about porn games and what people like? Hacks, garbage, you don't know most of these dev's so why take it to such a hostile level?
Honestly? Because of people who think I'm not allowed to share, or even have, a negative opinion. Every fucking time I ever say anything critical about any game ever, I always get the braindead response of 'Who are you to criticize them? What game did you make?'. Anyone who seriously floats an argument that dumb shouldn't be allowed to vote or have children.

My dude. Plenty of games here are not properly listed as 'translated', where the dev themselves is dropping it into Google Translate and parading it around here (and Patreon) for an English audience, even though they don't speak or understand English as a second language. They literally have zero capability to even comprehend the garbage they make. Games where every sentence has a grammatical error, because they couldn't even be bothered to dump their MTL garbage into a word processor before putting it into their game. Those people don't deserve a free pass.

I don't speak Spanish as a second language. So if I made a game, translated it into Spanish via MTL, and created a Patreon page in Spanish seeking money for my effort? Any native Spanish speaker would be right to call me out for dumping that low effort garbage out onto the internet, and having the wherewithal to ask people for money to support me to continue doing so.

In summary: When the resulting final product is so poor, it should be pointed out for the benefit of others in the community, and those devs partaking in such low-effort practices deserve to be roasted for it.

4. Played out tropes is a persons opinion, you might feel they are played out while others might feel there are not enough.
Sorry, I didn't know 'opinions' weren't allowed here on F95Zone.

A 'tryhard edgelord' would be someone like Jobeo who made super racist shit seemingly just to make super racist shit, or Blondie Bear (since removed from the site for rules violations) who's games were little more than a series of hate crimes. Generally anyone who puts questionable content in their game, then calls their detractors 'snowflakes' and the like (either preemptively or reflexively) as a means to shield themselves from criticism is a 'tryhard edgelord' and a hack.

A one-trick-pony would be someone like Sinncubus, where they make the same short game over and over again, just with a different coat of paint. On the opposite spectrum are those who are slaves to polls and public opinion, hoping that by catering to the fickle whims of their imagined 'fanbase', they too can make the big Patreon bucks. Sure, some devs have managed to bumble-fuck their way into that situation *cough* Milfy City *cough*, but it's like winning the lottery; it is largely luck and comes about organically, and is not the sort of success one can just plan to duplicate.

However the fact remains that these types of scenes are overplayed and dirt common precisely because they are an easy shortcut.

I always get the braindead response of 'Who are you to criticize them? What game did you make?'. Anyone who seriously floats an argument that dumb shouldn't be allowed to vote or have children.
If you are always getting the same "braindead response" from different people, then maybe it is time to realize where the actual braindead takes might be coming from...

Thanks. Hope you don't vote and always wear a rubber.

Remember folks: Only people who make art are allowed to share opinions about art. Everyone who isn't a game maker, movie maker, etc. just needs to stop and look at their shoes any time they ever have any opinion about them ever.

Too late for me, but hopefully you can still follow your own advice.
I think people are allowed to share their opinions, even if they aren't a creator. You know, like how Siskel and Ebert were allowed to be movie critics without being movie makers. So by my own logic, I'm both allowed to vote and breed. Funny how that works...

Nobody is saying you can't give you opinion though...

People are just saying that your take is braindead, as you are claiming that anyone using common tropes does so because they are lazy and not because they might really like that.

By your logic people should start doing completely random things not yet done just because it is original, go hire an AI to work for you if that's what you want.

Okay. Do people have zero reading comprehension around here? Is it a virus or something?

Nobody had yet attacked me for having an opinion in this thread, except for you, and you did so while quote mining out the part where my beef is the idea of being attacked merely for having a contrarian opinion.

"Honestly? Because of people who think I'm not allowed to share, or even have, a negative opinion." <- The part you conveniently cut out.

If someone thinks I have a bad take, then they can disagree with me and share their own take. That's fine, I don't expect everyone to agree with me. Marketplace of ideas and all that jam. But trying to shut down contrarian opinions merely on the grounds that they come from non-creators is censorious smooth-brain bullshit. We all know it is bullshit, because NOBODY ever uses that line of argumentation to stop praise, positive takes, and generally being a fanboi or stan.

Also, again, zero reading comprehension.

How can you say that when I've repeatedly posted...

"Now a good writer can use these scenarios as a vector for character development, but most simply do not, and use them merely as an excuse for some low-effort titillation."

"It also does NOTHING to disprove my original assertion, that these go-to tropes are commonly the tools of low effort hacks. Again, not everyone who uses them is a hack, and at this point I think you're failing to notice that distinction on purpose."

Or maybe you are just bad at conveying what you mean accurately.
"Honestly? Because of people who think I'm not allowed to share, or even have, a negative opinion." <- The part you conveniently cut out.
Having a different opinion is completely fine, calling those that disagree with you braindead isn't.

OP clearly just created this thread because he has a kink for dancing. He is mad there aren't more games with dancing, but the reason for that is simple: There are less people with a dancing kink than there are people with an yoga kink.

Not everything you don't like boils down to lazyness.

Or maybe you are just bad at conveining what you mean accurately.
How can I convey it more clearly when you just IGNORE all the carefully chosen wording and caveats, because they disagree with your blanket assertions? It's not my fault you ignored all of the instances where I said not everyone who makes use of these scenes is a hack, before you go and post "...as you are claiming that anyone using common tropes does so because they are lazy and not because they might really like that."

Notice how you use 'anyone', despite me couching my opinion that 'not everyone' who does so is a hack. I even cited multiple examples of non-hack usage of yoga or drinking games. Even my first post uses caveats rather than blanket assertions.

"Few use such an encounter creatively or as a chance to character build. Most just use it as an excuse to ogle and nothing else."

'Few' and 'Most' are not 'anyone' or 'everyone'. No amount of clarification on my part is going to fix your lack of comprehension and/or motivated reasoning. You have a bad take on my take, because you are ascribing to me opinions that I expressly do not share and went out of my way to be clear on. You are selectively ignoring what I wrote. That's all on you.

Having a different opinion is completely fine, calling those that disagree with you braindead isn't.
Again. Reading comprehension. Here's the context yet again.

morphnet - "Now you see, that is uncalled for. Is there a need to use insults when talking about porn games and what people like? Hacks, garbage, you don't know most of these dev's so why take it to such a hostile level?"

I'll admit that I don't tend to mince words, and I'm not afraid to be critical. I took it to mean they were curious as to why I'm a bit hard-edged and may come off as hostile at times. It is because of a history across this entire forum of being told my opinion is invalid because of nonsensical bullshit. Asked and answered.

I'm not calling all those who disagree with me brain-dead (let alone morphnet specifically), only those who's explicit response to an opinion they don't like is that it is an invalid opinion because of an entirely arbitrary reason (e.g. it comes from a non-creator). You are not brain-dead merely for disagreeing with me. However you would be brain-dead for telling me to shup-up because I'm not a creator and therefore implying that my opinion doesn't count.

After the umpteenth time someone dismisses your opinion explicitly because you're a non-creator, you kinda stop wearing the kid gloves and worrying about hurting other people's fee-fees. Sorry, not sorry.

OP clearly just created this thread because he has a kink for dancing. He is mad there aren't more games with dancing, but the reason for that is simple, there are less people with a dancing kink than there are people with an yoga kink.

Again, see above. Your use of 'everything' here entirely mischaracterizes what I've actually said, and bellies the fact that you didn't honestly engage with what I actually wrote.

I haven't responded to the OP since my initial post, and you jumped in while I was knee-deep in a relatively civil back and forth with morphnet. So, what's your point? I wasn't agreeing or disagreeing with the OP per se, merely giving my take on why I think yoga scenes and the like are so ubiquitous.

Which as of yet, nobody has been able to demonstrate that my opinion here is objectively wrong. Nobody has been able to present evidence that every instance, or even the majority of instances, of yoga and the like come from high-effort quality games that really have something meaningful to convey about Buddhism and stretching, or college parties and alcohol.

To be honest, I'm not expecting anybody to. Who is gonna put the work into debunking a hot-take here? But the honest response is to share a differing opinion, not try to invalidate or attack the opinions of others with nonsensical reasons.

It doesn't have to disprove it because your "assertion" is your opinion NOT a fact. Your opinion is also VERY bias and apparently drowning in anger for some reason.

Honestly? Because of people who think I'm not allowed to share, or even have, a negative opinion. Every fucking time I ever say anything critical about any game ever, I always get the braindead response of 'Who are you to criticize them? What game did you make?'. No one said ANYTHING about you not being allowed to share or have an opinion but there is having and sharing an opinion " I don't really like chicken" AND.... then there is "fuck chicken, chicken fucking sux ass, anyone who likes chicken like shit!!!!"
There is a very big difference and the second one will be received with alot of hostility because it was shared with hostility.

I'll also point out that you are bringing your baggage from other places / threads into this one and it doesn't belong here.
on a side note it is really hard to take someone seriously when the crux of their points relies so heavily on insults.

You also didn't answer my question at all, you mentioned people BUT I asked about dev's and their games NOT the community.

I think there is 'competent' AI art. People who take the time to use it as a base or as just a tool in their own art creation. I have zero respect for people who just dump raw Stable Diffusion renders into their games showing people with mangled anatomy or locations that would make Salvador Dalí blush. People who used raw AI renders are hacks.
Exaggerations aside I see you make no exception for new / beginner dev or Old dev's trying new things.

Firstly my dude, you need to cut back on the exaggerations, secondly, you can say for 100% fact that you know each and everyone of those dev's you "think" are "dropping it into Google Translate" are actually doing it? Or are you just painting plenty of dev's with the same brush as the ones you hate?

Sorry, I didn't know 'opinions' weren't allowed here on F95Zone.
Neither did I but according to you it's ok to insult and belittle them AND you will notice I only pointed out others had a different opinion to yours I never implied or straight out said either side wasn't allowed opinions so I have NO idea where you pulled that from....

Please, which of the dozens of Naruto parody games is a hidden gem?

I'll wait.
Don't hold your breathe, I never agreed to let you pick which copy-cats would be used as an example.

Every game is BBC and turbosluts, where the female lead is gargling cock and getting railed within the first minutes of the game. There is the barest pretense of a setting with poorly written dialogue, lots of boring sex built around a singular kink, churned out with the efficiency of a meat packing plant. Sure, there might be an audience they're catering too, but that doesn't make it less hacky.

A 'hack' is someone who makes low-effort work quickly. Short-cuts are tools to increase efficiency. If you want to be a 'good' hack (i.e. increase your efficiency), you're gonna make use of a lot of short-cuts. That's why hacks love and overuse short-cuts, like yoga and truth or dare scenes. It also contributes to them being so ubiquitous. It's the same reason why there is a ton of step-sisters getting caught head-first in clothes dryers all over PornHub.
You see you keep phrasing it by saying "some aren't but most are hacks" so far you have fixated on one game, thrown in a couple of others later and still expect people to take you seriously when you try make out that the problem is really big.

The fact that you are dismissive and belittling towards others opinions while trying to "assert" your own, that is, that if a game isn't made to your exacting standards it's garbage, made by a hack shows that the only one not willing to engage here is you.

Ideally, themselves. The highest quality games here are made by people or teams with a singular vision. They already know what they want to make, and go about making it. Even if it's not your personal jam, they end up producing unquestionably solid and quality work.

On the opposite spectrum are those who are slaves to polls and public opinion, hoping that by catering to the fickle whims of their imagined 'fanbase', they too can make the big Patreon bucks. Not sure what ^ that has to do with you statement (quoted below)....but ok.....

as do games that float entirely on their specific kink with little effort put into anything else.
That seems like a contradiction though.... dev's should listen "Ideally, themselves." but if they do and make a game "entirely on their specific kink with little effort put into anything else." then they are a hack...

Also when you say dev's should listen "Ideally, themselves." that means NOT listening to your...."criticisms" does not make them a hack and by "polls and public opinion" that includes you right?

Just cause it's low-effort slop doesn't mean it shouldn't exist. Sure, there is a market for it. If people want low-effort slop, other people are going to supply low-effort slop. That's perfectly fine. But I'm going to call it out as low-effort slop when I see it, so that others who prefer a better grade of erotica know what they're getting into.
There you go again, stating it as if it were a fact. It's not a fact, it's your opinion and your opinion does NOT trump others opinions. You jump very quickly on your supposed high horse when you think (wrongly so) that other don't want you to have an opinion but are just as quick to berate and belittle others opinions and try your utmost to make the environment hostile for them to share theirs.

This right here is why I'm fairly certain you're not honestly engaging with what I wrote.

I never claimed that these scenes were ONLY used by hacks, merely that they are the go-to tools of low-effort hacks. Good devs can and do uses these type of scenes to great effect. You never claimed they were ONLY used by hack, what you DID claim is that the hacks are the majority and I am saying there are far less BAD uses of it than you claim. Not meeting your narrow, ridged view does not mean a scene was bad, a game is garbage or that the dev is a hack. It just means you don't like it and should go look for another game to play.

Yoga among others is used because some people enjoy it and want it.

Nobody has been able to present evidence that every instance, or even the majority of instances, of yoga and the like come from high-effort quality games that really have something meaningful to convey about Buddhism and stretching, or college parties and alcohol.
You are the one making false claims all around.

What you are doing is just looking for an excuse to justify something you dislike into being "objectively worse" when in fact there is no objectivity in any of your points in the first place, remember that we are talking about kinks and spicy scenes in porn games.

You are just a bad critic that fails to realize the flaws in your own logic, nothing more. That's what many bad critics do, they come up with dumb and completely out of place excuses to justify their hate for something not being what they wanted instead of just saying it isn't their cup of tea.

"you don't know most of these dev's so why take it to such a hostile level?" I didn't refer to people being mean to you or any interactions you've had in other threads. I pointed out you were calling some dev's lazy and their work garbage which is uncalled for as you don't know them personally, you don't know if they are unartistic but trying their best, you don't know if they are actually just sitting at home laughing as money comes in...or not as is the case for MANY.

What you are ACTUALLY doing is seeing a game and thinking to yourself..."that looks like shit" and then going and saying that.
That approach has NEVER been helpful and only manages to generate more hostility.

Is it honestly that hard to go into a thread or dm a dev and say "hey there, played your game and has a few thoughts do you have a minute?" or "played the game, has a few thought on what might make it hotter, what do you guy think of x"
I have literally seen people do this and it turn into a multi-reply brainstorming session.

There is giving constructive criticism and then there is being insulting under the guise of criticism.

After the umpteenth time someone dismisses your opinion explicitly because you're a non-creator, you kinda stop wearing the kid gloves and worrying about hurting other people's fee-fees. Sorry, not sorry.
So you are going to be insulting, dismissive, belittling and rude to everyone because a few people hurt your...how did you put it... "fee-fees" Seriously, you can't see just how much that makes no sense? For someone looking for " something meaningful to convey about Buddhism and stretching " you sure know how to hold a grudge and apply it in the wrong places...

But the honest response is to share a differing opinion, not try to invalidate or attack the opinions of others with nonsensical reasons.
I was going to respond to the other parts but after reading this.....

so...

But the honest response is to share a differing opinion, not try to invalidate or attack the opinions of others with nonsensical reasons.
Plus

It is because of a history across this entire forum of being told my opinion is invalid because of nonsensical bullshit.
equals....

Okay. So you enjoy easy slop.
On the opposite spectrum are those who are slaves to polls and public opinion
If people want low-effort slop
If this is your idea of, in your words "not try to invalidate or attack the opinions of others with nonsensical reasons." I'd hate to see what is invalidating opinions and your reasons, your opinion is most of what people like (games wise <---for context) is slop and garbage.

On the yoga "over-used trope" part of the discussion, you've mentioned a couple of times how no one has proven anything to you but you have managed to prove that your tastes and standards are "probably" not a universal standard and that most of us are safe playing the "garbage" and "slop" out there and enjoying it.

I don't like those clothes, not watching babes.:coffee:
So the result is: Potential turn-on from the girl is negated by the clothes she's wearing.
If they did it naked for example... now that's yoga i could get behind.
As someone that enjoys skimpy clothing more than full nudity your bland taste disappoints me.
I'm taking that coffee from you :coffee:.

Dunno what the drama's about, I understood what EK meant just fine: The tropes are low-effort but they can be used by better writers if they put in the effort. It's been repeated at least three times too. Their communication was clear enough. Sure the language isn't neutral, but "garbage" is pretty mild and colourful language doesn't mean a "biased" opinion whatever that's supposed to mean. The tone in the trope discussion sounds critical and sometimes harsh, but not angry. Yeah if you distort that unintentionally you're not inviting smiles and sunshine really.

Yoga in itself isn't even a bad hobby for an LI, it can be believable for women in a large range of ages. What doesn't make sense is that they all need the "help" of unskilled serial gropemeisters who lewd it all up whenever they can.
