Why do Ugly Bastards exist? Who is it for?

I'll admit I don't like Ugly Bastard hentai/porn/h-games. I prefer all the characters to at least be decent to look at. Ugly Bastards tend to kill my boner.
Although it wouldn't be a popular tag if it didn't have fans.

So Ugly Bastard fans why do you like Ugly Bastards? I understand there's a lot of NTR crossover there so I won't rule that out, but why does the character have to be, well ugly?

I think most kinks have a bunch of different reasons for existing. A few thoughts about what might drive people toward ugly bastard.

• Taboo - women aren't 'supposed' to want ugly men, so seeing a woman corrupted into desiring one hits the 'stuff that feels wrong' button in people's brains.
• Sexual degradation and humiliation kinks.
• Self insert - especially because there are very few male characters in drawn porn who are fat but not grotesque. Someone might not specifically associate with being a hideous troll, but want to see a fat dude like them get some.
• Size difference kink - pretty much the only avenue to get size difference kink content that doesn't break rule 7 is ugly bastard. For whatever reason drawn male porn characters tend to be twinks.

Okay, while I haven't done a complete 180 this post did help me understand why they exist. kinda. Especially the last two. I do tend to self insert in games(I have said so in other threads) and I'm not skinny. I'm not fat either though. And I do have a bit of a size difference kink. Irl I tend to like girls who are shorter than me. Thing is I'm not very tall.

I don't have a sexual degradation kink or anything like that, but no kink shaming.

The taboo thing doesn't really make sense to me though. Sure "women don't go for ugly men" is a thing. I just don't see why that hits the 'stuff that feels wrong' button. There is equal to and way worse things to get off to if that's your thing.
Although just because I don't understand something doesn't make it wrong. I might just be a little slow and it'll all come together 2 hours from now while I check to see if I have the night shift today.

Believe it or not when people look in the mirror they don't always see pretty staring back at them. Ugly bastard is a way for men to realize that looks aren't always everything when it comes to getting women.

The ugly bastard trope is good for the NTR and humiliation stuff because it's just further degradation of the women succumbing to those poor ugly bastards.

The ugly bastard can be incredibly skilled and wise, showing men that even if you aren't handsome but have good skills you can still bag womens.

The funny part about the ugly bastard is that he usually wins (unless the story is specific around him losing), and gets his way and is persistent and takes all the harems.

The ugly bastard trope is kind of its own self contained redemption arc. Everyone likes to see the underdog win.

For a bit you trick your brain into thinking your banging your ideal girl(or at least close to an ideal) and then you finish. I just didn't understand why someone in that situation wouldn't also want an ideal body.
I guess I'm just bad at putting myself in other peoples shoes.

Idk, in the discussion of why netori is underrated, users were saying that they like to play as a good guy hence why they prefer NTR, so even if ugly bastard is a Netori protagonist, they wouldn't play the game. It doesn't make sense.

I think a lot of people feel that way, though I don't picture myself banging girls usually.

Everyone wants to be ideal but we do what we can with what we are dealt, and that's ok!

I might just not like ugly characters because I'm not a huge fan of this either. I have played a few corruption games so I get where you're coming from. Personally I just don't get why the character has to be ugly. Of course this is not me kink shaming just trying to explain my views on a kink I don't enjoy. If you love Ugly bastards in games I'm glad you can enjoy something I can't enjoy.
