Someone needs to make this movie/game/whatever because it could be hilarious.
While there surely exists a minority that might want to self-insert as the ugly bastard, the VAST majority is in it for the corruption. Ugly bastard being the antagonist adds another layer to the degradation of the woman. That's basically it. Naturally, this is why you almost never see ugly bastards as the protagonist. They are basically a staple in NTR as the antagonist.

Maybe because we derive pleasure from sex? Most animals don't. So if we derive pleasure from sex we find ways to make sex more pleasurable. I think that's where most kinks come from anyway.

To your original point there is also the practical level, if you have to draw a character that looks consistent its actually difficult to get the angles etc correct and still maintain a sense that its the same character. If a characters main thing is 'ugly' they easy af to draw from different angles etc as looking wrong is the ugly/right thing which leaves more time to make the thing you want to look good look good (usually the star & the thing you want to look at).
Its pretty much one level above silhouettes
And no, this isn't the only reason, but a little like how tentacles appeared I think there is a cause that goes back to 'was drawn that way because reasons now ppl like it'.

Can usually blame man. There are very few people that can't be at least presentable with enough effort and exercise. "Ugly bastard" in real life is 99% a result of donuts and laziness.
