i cant even start the game. it keeps throwing an error about a file missing in kernel32.dll or some shit. whatever. deleted

Proud Windows less-than-10 user I assume?
So something to note: the preg speed slider is reversed from how it used to be. Before, the higher the # the faster it went. Now, higher numbers slow it down a lot. The quickest is like 0.1 instead.
Also, when she gives birth, the creature cannot be interacted with. I believe I know why - the game still thinks labor is happening. The scene isn't ending properly. When you try to walk away, red text appears yelling at you to "not get too far away from your body!" or something like that. So I think it is still stuck in the scene and not letting you interact. You can't use the ESC menu either, more evidence...

I see you are smart enough you can remember this - any Unreal Engine 5 game requires Windows 10. So live with this knowledge you would never be able to play any modern game. My, oh, my. Another one of those. No common sense, no understanding of 'why's and 'how's, no purpose.
That "lose to see new content" idea is faulty at best. To make it work there is shitload of work need to be done. But they just keep creating that kind of crap.

meh, like i said i'm not really worried about it atm. i'll upgrade eventually. it looks like it'll be a while till this game is decently playable anywayI see you are smart enough you can remember this - any Unreal Engine 5 game requires Windows 10. Windows 7 is a 15 year old operating system. As for the all spyware malware paranoid mythology, you’re not important enough for them to care about anything you do on your PC. All the OSes “spy” on you if you count anonymous telemetry as spying. Just block the target servers in your router. Playing games on Linux distributions like Kubuntu via ProtonDB or Wine is no problem and there are even gamer centered distros like Lutris. If you use steam it's the same 'click on install' like in Windows', just because steamOS is Linux based. What does often not work under Linux are anti cheats (there is a site for that

). And if somebody wants to or has to stay with Windows (For example you can't cross compile in Unreal under Linux or MacOS, meaning develop in Windows for Linux works, but not under Linux for Windows.) debloated options like Ghost Spectre, Atlas OS or ReviOS exist.
