Dev is a wishy washy developer and has dropped games left and right.. The first WR was much much better story wise, art wise, and battle wise. Dev being wishy washy would not just say shut up it's a brothel game which is there job and is not NTR. No Dev does not have the strength of mind and instead made this project which is really a failure of the original.
Dev has already dropped games 3 times so you can't believe in this developer a good developer will finish the original game even if a failure to prove to the people that they will complete a game and will not abandon the project you support. This developer has failed that test miserably that and because of this he will never really get very many Patreon followers.

Wicked Rouge Release Date: 10-21-2019 Abandoned: 6-24-2021 (restart a game after 2 years of development and many updates this is milking Patreons)
Crown of Desire Release Date: 5-3-2024 Abandoned: 11-1-2024 (abandoned in 6 months so another failure as dev and belief in them as a dev)
Wicked Rouge Refine Release Date: 10-18-2021 (character design downgrade not as sexy, battle downgrade, and story downgrade came out)
The moment this developer did the remake on the first release for no reason at all was the moment he lost many followers faith in the developer. Once you go and pull a stunt like that you have destroyed any reputation you had and majority of the people will not believe enough to support them.
So NO it does not make sense!

Hentai Punch! was my first game, more of an experiment, and I abandoned it early due to time constraints and a full-time job. Positive feedback later inspired me to try again, so I created
Wicked Rouge, partly inspired by another game, Oiran Rouge, which had an interesting mix of story and gameplay. WR was generally liked but also criticized. Writing was a challenge, so I hired a writer and rebooted it as
WR: Refine.
Financially,
Refine wasn’t a success, but that didn’t stop me. We made around ten chapters with meaningful gameplay and content, even though constant negativity led me to rush the story and scale back darker paths originally planned for 30% of the game. Ironically, the very critics who kept pushing for this content, thinking they could bully me into rushing the process, ultimately caused it to be reduced.
As
Wicked Rouge neared completion, I began planning
CoD, hoping for a smooth transition. But I faced similar negativity and even sabotage, including fake reports on itch.io, where fake reports got the game removed from the front page at launch. So, I’ve decided to finish
WR and shift to working on it as a hobby, for those who genuinely support the game.
I still love developing, and the quality of
Wicked Rouge and
CoD speaks for itself. Now, I’m happier working on my own terms, completing
Refine's main story, and after that just continuing working on the new content fans have wanted from the very beginning. I’m focused on what interests me and creating for those who appreciate it, regardless of ongoing negativity.
