The reason this kind of censorship is so stupid is that they literally can't police every single adult website. Remember how in school kids would literally get around every blocked site with like 50 new ones? It's that on a larger scale.

Thanks for the info. Fortunately, they don't see to be displaying much creativity nor inventive with their plans to target this site and similar ones, so we shouldn't be expecting anything serious coming from them. I personally think that organised activist fronts, such as this "Collective Shout", Mediawatch, the Christian Legal Centre and the like, as well as public personalities who have some sort of media presence and are known for their public calls to censorship like Julie Bindel are the ones who we should worry about. They are capable of doing much more damage than some randoms on Reddit or Twitter.

There has been an increasingly large number of radfem/TERF figures who are becoming ideologically interwined with the conservative far-right and are publically denouncing homosexuality, queerness, and sexual "permissiveness" and "deviancy" in general as the cause of all ills in modern day society, even going as far a ditching the "feminist" label in favour of a more conservatively-correct term like "pro-women" or "pro-family" or something like that. This is especially notable in Commonwealth/Anglophone countries, primarely the UK and Australia. This sort of entryist strategy where they make use of their pseudo-feminist reputation to advance straight-out conservative causes in the instrumentalised name of feminism is also becoming increasinlgy common. Collective Shout seems to be another one of these cases.

At this point is no longer a "Andrea Dworkin aligning herself with Pat Buchanan over a common cause" type situation, it's more like a "Dworkin publically abandoning feminism and converting to Buchanan's brand of integralist conservatism" type situation.

the truth of the matter is after the banning of NSFW content on itch it has been a wake up call for a lot of people. but it felt to me as a dumb move and it was needless to do. the people who run itch are full of arrogance and don't think before they do, because if they had enough brainpower and logic which they don't they would of thought to not ban adult content. they didn't care who it affected afterward, and because of this change it has upset both adults of this forum making it more difficult to download games from a developer that offer the game available to download on their developer page, making it harder for others and also making it tougher for developers because some devs make a living off their games they make and they focus and manage their earnings through a developer page/portal, itch.io, patreon would be examples.

Furthermore, this paragraph is going to sound off topic but i would also like to mention these pertinent facts. the main problem is the fact that there is no adult age restriction across all internet platforms, this includes all forums, sites, discord, twitter, facebook, steam, and many others. look at the logical perspective, look at the current age limit required for all the internet sites, and i am talking about the actual account registration age, and believe me the age requirement does exist, this includes all client based programs as well. the age restriction should be for adults only, age of 18 or 18+ strictly no exceptions no workarounds, and as to why this should be changed? well do the logic, its simple and if you know logical keenness you should already know why. adults are the only people who should be able to both use and access the internet. non adults should never be on the internet reason being is because the internet is unknown to them, plus adults are just more mature, makes sense? yeah pretty sure these 2 sentient paragraphs make sense.

It's just worrying that the rhetoric of censorship gets support in the wrong places for the wrong reasons, and it's a gateway to also censor political agenda. This something we can't really get rid off, except by recognizing the pattern when it happens.

I'll refrain from making political innuendo here, but recently several group has learned that intention and results might not be straightforwardly connected... I'm pretty sure censorship is something that will backfire, sooner or later.

I'm just informing people about potential dangers, nothing else.

There are a lot of governments currently drafting future legislation to curtail unrestricted access to sexual materials on the Internet, even non-pornographical ones. Some countries like the UK had already passed laws like these. Your entire point is completely wrong and has nothing to do with the topic of F95 being potentially targeted by anti-porn campaigners of various types, which is what my original posts were all about.

I think Steam was pretty smart calling Payment Processors directly.
People forget but this has been going on for years laundering the censorship behind the storefronts and platforms like Steam and Patreon with nebulous and sometimes undisclosed violations and banning.
I am not sure what was behind Itch.io case, either they got arrogant with the success of Steam or Steam themselves put their finger on it.
If they were smart they would secretly and gradually launder the censorship on Itch like it happened on Steam and Patreon. I don't believe in coincidences.
