Anybody know if the developer is working on anything new? Saw on the C-ien website they haven't put an update since 2024

This question gets asked a lot. Currently on the devs twitter account, he's regulary posting his new passion for 3D printing. He also sometimes posts some pixel art. But literally zero news or announcements about a new game. If I remember correctly there was a dlc for a vampire survivors-like game accounced which would've featured the cast from their games. But I don't know the current stand on that. And he also claimed to focus on sfw games after Winter Memories 2. So either he is hiding the whole development of his new game or we simply will never get one.

The dev has health issues and last time I read a statement said he stepped away from game development, no idea whether he will return in the future.

Not that it'd mattered because if I recall correctly he was thinking of making a SFW game next anyway. Real shame though... it's always the good ones that leave.

damn, i heard rumor back then he made spring memories with the new character mc mom, but thats year ago so maybe he discard it all.

I don't want to destroy your hope. Ikeda does a lot of 3D stuff nowadays, mainly used for 3D printing. But who knows, maybe it's practice for his new game with new 3D models and animations. But as I said he mentioned him being unsatisfied with Winter Memories and thinking about quitting nsfw games alltogether. The only things I know of which could hint to a future game was one short nsfw animation in a new style and some art from the cast of SM+ and WM+ in a fantasy-rpg setting. But I haven't seen any updates on that for a while.

Yeah, sadly chances are we won't see another game from Ikeda for a while. He mentioned wanting his next game to be sfw and 3d so we probably have a few years atleast.

The Summer Memories DLC for Kagura Survivors has been on development hell for a while now. As far as I'm aware there used to be a whole team working on it last year, but since mid to late December 2024 (I think) most of the people working on it left and now there's only one dev doing all the work and that one dev left still has to prioritize other projects over Kagura Survivors. So, yeah... don't expect that to come out soon neither

I once asked his team (Doujin Otome) and they said, "The developer's health is not very good, so it's unlikely he'll make a remake or DLC version of the game." And I asked if he wanted to retire or not? His team replied, "The team also agrees that if he wants to end his career with this game (Winter Memories), then that's fine, but if not, he can just make another one."
The developer is not alone he has several people helping him, and they also understand his condition, so we can only wait for his decision.

So, seeing how many of you guys are starving for more games like this from this developer, might I interest you with a souvenir while you wait?
This game has been in the works for a couple years, but the developer announced today a playable demo on christmas and a release date for january 30th, it seems like it will follow the Memories formula, but unlike many other games that had tried to copy it, this one does seem like it will be worth to check out (also, i can vouch for the developer, he makes goated games, so i actually have a lot of hopes for this one).

neat, hopefully the demo gets translated quickly been hoping for spiritual successor to the memories games and this looks like a strong contender hopefully its an actual game that you have to play rather than a generic "collect cgs" rpgm game.

Thanks for the recommendation, I'll check it out. It is kind of funny given how popular SM and WM are, there are not that many devs who tried to copy the formula.
