I can't play this game because i constantly feel bad for girls being manipulated abused and exploited :(

In the cartoon protagonist wasn't such a dickhead
If it's any consolation, a route without blackmail has already been promised, but it will only be done after the current route is complete.

(Could you tell me the name of the cartoon you mentioned?)

(Could you tell me the name of the cartoon you mentioned?)
W.I.T.C.H. It actually started as an Italian comic book, created by Elizabetta Gnone, Alessandro Barbucci, and Barbara Canepa for Disney Italy as part of the wave of new original comic series of the 1990s and early 2000s started with Paperinik New Adventures, and the first with only original character and no appearance of the existing Disney Mouse and Duck Comic universe (PKNA and W.I.T.C.H. were the longest running and best liked, with Monster Allergy as a distant third and the only one aside for W.I.T.C.H. to get an animated adaptation). Disney Italy didn't really believe it would work and basically let the creators have free reign, only to be surprised when it was an even greater hit than PKNA and cut them out before starting to soften the atmosphere with the seventh issue (the one with the introduction of Caleb and Elyon starting to doubt Cedric)

The comic was originally created by went on for 139 monthly issues and 14 special ones, most of which wasn't published outside Europe (though it was extremely well liked in East Europe), though after a while it starts suffering. When it becomes bad depends on who you ask (some like only the first four arcs, that as far I know everyone considers the best, some like also the fifth arc The Book of Elements, the last before they ran out of material from the original creators, others like everything to the end of the seventh arc New Power, and I personally love up to the eighth arc 100% W.I.T.C.H.), but with the ninth and tenth arc it stops having long term foes and storylines, with good plots uncerimoniously wasted (they are considered the worst for this reason), so the last nine issues constitute the final arc, Magical Sovereigns, that once again has a unified storyline... And they completely missed the chance to bring back Orube (a Kandrakar-related character that appeared in the third, fourth, and fifth arc before returning to her world to mourn her lover), giving the judge role to Elyon instead (Elyon having not appeared in the main series since the fourth arc, though one of the later specials was centered around her).

Then in October 2023 was published a graphic novel starting a modern reboot, with a second published in October 2024. The reboot had mixed reception, and that's likely why they didn't published a third graphic novel in 2025.

The cartoon adapted the first two arcs, The Twelve Portals and Nerissa's Revenge (though in the comic Phobos and his inner circle were imprisoned in the Tower of Mists on Kandrakar after their defeat in the first arc and posed no threat in the second, while in the cartoon Phobos and Cedric with most of the army were imprisoned on Meridian and the ones that escaped posed a threat in the second season, helping along Nerissa's plans). The final episode of the second season hinted they were ready to also adapt the third arc A Crisis on Two Worlds, with the appearance of Raphael Sylla and "Mr. Riddle", two of the villains from the third story arc (the Earth ones), and ends with Sylla infiltrating the school as in the comic, but Disney decided not to renew the season. Big names associated with the show are Greg Weisman, that ran the second season (that, as expected, is FAR better than the first) and Thomas Astruc, who worked with the stortboards.

And something I hope Somka will use from the later arcs is the costumes from the New Power arc onward, as they are much sexier.

Because it looks like shit, is inconsistent, soulless, and can never capture what you have in mind the way that a skilled artist can?

Sure, if you put in a prompt for "Elyon blowjob" and feed it a bunch of Somka's art to copy, it may come up with something passable. But what if you want something more specific than that, like a specific narrative, a story, specific poses or positions? The LLM will never actually "know" what you want like an artist can. If you just want a bunch of disconnnected CGs you go right ahead and generate as much slop as you want, but people play games for some kind of structure, and consistent styles or any scene with even a modicum of creativity is impossible.
The only way you can make AI work consistantly is to... put a lot of effort into it, sketching, refining, and by the time you get finished doing that? You're probably taking about as much time as you did if you just drew it. I know some commercial artists who use it, but they use it as a tool, like photoshop and know all the basics.

And if they did use AI, I expect they'd lose a lot of subscribers who want to see Somka's art.

I'm not automatically opposed to it (if you're new game has an art budget of 0, sure you use what you have), but it'd be a huge mistake here.

Release Window, Story Details, and Our Team’s Concerns

Hello everyone!

First, we’d like to add a quick note about the previous post. Based on your comments and questions, some of the wording may have been confusing or misleading.

Release schedule and the future update roadmap

To keep it simple: our release schedule and our “future update roadmap” remain roughly the same.
We will still do our best to push past our current pace, so that major updates come out more often than once every 4 months. And EX versions will still be released between major updates, since this format has clearly become a fan favorite.
That said, whether everyone truly loves the EX format will be confirmed by the third “cementing” release, which will be the future 0.26EX.

A bit more context about the new structure

If we go a little deeper, the new in-game structure we talked about earlier should help us release updates more frequently in the future. It’s one of several new solutions we’re introducing.
But as it often happens, the hardest part is the beginning. And that “beginning” landed right on version 0.26.
This isn’t even just about the content inside 0.26 itself. It’s more about the fact that from this point forward we’ve started paying much closer attention to quest structure and scene order. And that’s not even mentioning future gameplay mechanics we’ve temporarily put on hold. This is exactly the kind of work our writer has been focusing on lately.

So when is 0.26 coming out?

Right now, our team is doing everything we can to speed up development. But to be fully honest, looking at the current situation objectively, we understand that version 0.26 will release in early February.
This outcome is the result of all the events we’ve described in previous posts. It’s frustrating news not only for you, but for our entire team as well, because we have never delayed an update for this long before.
We’re also worried this may seriously impact our stats next month, and that even releasing the update might not fully recover the drop. Still, we are already working on preventing this kind of situation from happening again in the future. This time, we were clearly not prepared for such problems. If something similar happens again later, we will be ready, and our release schedule will not suffer this much.

A small teaser so you don’t get bored this month

To keep things interesting while you wait, we decided to share a small teaser for the upcoming update. Nothing too spoiler-heavy, but still with a few details.
First of all, yes, in the image attached to this post you can see Miranda sitting inside Cedric’s book shop. This directly hints at what Miranda will be doing in future updates, and it also shows that her stay on Earth isn’t as temporary as it may have seemed.
The writer decided it’s time to stop keeping our little spider girl locked in a damp lab.
And as for other interesting details… let’s just say that this update will feature another new character. In a way, we already teased them on the group cover with all the characters at the end of version 0.25. Feel free to share your guesses in the comments.

Final notes

That’s all we can share for now. We’ll reveal a bit more in the next post.
As always, you’re welcome to leave your thoughts and questions in the comments. Thank you for your support, and a special thank you to everyone who continues to sponsor us right now. That support matters a lot to our team at the moment. We’re almost there.

Thank you all, and have a great week!

Thanks pal! You are always so quick  I dont know how were they planning to release it before new year, even without the inconveniences I doubt it was possible.

I totally agree with you. For once, I will express my indignation at the current situation.
In Discord they wrote first about December, then about January. But, to tell the truth, the screenwriter wrote about it. In general, I will tell you one thing: I doubt that they will be able to speed up the development. In addition, if I understood what was said in the news correctly, the team is beginning to doubt the usefulness of extended versions.

I wonder if Miranda will also have the Elyon mechanics where we can ask her for favors and give her gifts. But again those features are what make Elyon unique in her own way.

Honestly, as someone who got sick at the end of the year too, I can totally understand the team.
The first 1.5 to 2 weeks you are basically just suffering, and after that the fatigue sticks around and your productivity drops to like one third of normal. Getting back into work right after the holidays is already tough, and if you were sick right before that, it is even harder.
I just hope their new plan works out this time and the new approach helps them release updates faster. At least they are trying.

I've been always wondering: How many people are involved in production of this game? Do you have any insights?

I understand everything, we are all human beings and force majeure can happen to everyone. But sometimes Somka can't handle the weekly news.
PS. I stop spreading negativity and go into standby mode.:ROFLMAO:
