yes, a mini game.
One of the books you can purchase is "My Dear WAIFU", it presents you with choices (numbered 1 to 4) that lead to 5 different solutions. I believe it increases your immagination ... at least it did in the original ...
It is quite a laborious tasks
AFAIK, it serves no purpose in WT Silver (except to pass the time when you're already swimming in money and don't want to work at your desk)

nope it is correct, it is "go to the Prom" it doesn't always come up on day 20, if it does it seems you will either get a Harem or be disappointed
I see in the files there are CG for a "forest" scene as well as a "luna" scene that looks like it has a missionary variant with Hermione. How do I unlock these?

Only at night, open the map, if u see hermione alone in the forest u can go there and unlock the scene, this not always happens, i dont know what trigger the event

Akabur had some random art on his site galleries that included that, and some of the mods might have incorporated it at various times. The Sad Crab mod or Feodosiy's probably had it in, or at least herbology class, rape plants from the same set, but I don't remember if Silver ever included any of them.
They were just random additions to the public favors. They'd accompany Hermione reminiscing about what happened during the day, which is maybe a bit better than the usual trip reports. I don't think any of that's even still lurking around in the assets, if Silver ever used them.
