On top of that, I want Hermione to have a voiceover, and she's obviously British. But I've considered translating the game into Russian, Spanish and Chinese, would be a smart move, just not at this point in time and development.
However, I have a friend that would probably do a Spanish translation if asked, and I can obviously handle the Russian one.

I also really like stories, I haven't been able to properly show how it could look, but I want to make a game and not necessarily a visual novel (which are mostly a reading material with pictures and some choices). VN are pretty easy to do with DAZ 3d, but I feel like I want an actual game, with game mechanics and so on. Subjectively it feels much harder to do then a story with pictures.
But I do want to have a story also, it just takes time to get there.

Yeah, problem with doing a game with the AI art is it's hard to keep it consistent when focusing on just the face (in fact, a few pages back there is one where Hermione starts looking a little Asian around her nasal bridge to me); once you need that face, or that body, to perform, it's gonna get even rougher. That's probably my #1 issue with AI art right now. Though quite frankly I prefer it over DAZ, which I personally always found jarring. I think it's mostly a lighting thing? And that most DAZ boobs look like balloon implants (though with enough work that's fixable... the lighting thing doesn't seem to be.)...
DAZ does teens/young adults best, I think; the less lines on their faces and the smaller breast sizes seem to work better for the engine. Again, my opinion.

As for AI, I don't consider it to be the only tool, just a very powerful one. The sketches of new scenes are exactly that - just sketches, I wanted to see how would it look. The end result would be much more polished.
You can compare the early version of the updated Hermione's face to the latest one:
You can't get that with just AI, at least not at the moment. Well, technically you can't get the first two images with just AI also, but I hope you get my point, manual work is still the king.
As for consistency between the images — again, I'll do it the way I did it before AI era — manual editing/painting, AI is a new 'brush' sort of speak.
Regarding DAZ, I've been using it for years, helps a lot with creating consistent characters (for obvious reasons), but texturing and lighting are the key for good looking renders (not to mention camera work and composition), and those are the skills that can only be developed over time.
There are some really nice presets for textures and lighting out there, so it can make the life easier, but would still require work.
So, I guess, my point being is that AI and DAZ are tools with their inherent capabilities and limitations. One can blame 'bad' results on a tool, but I prefer to think about it as a lack of skill.
In the first case you are 'doomed' to having shitty results just because the tool sucks, while in the second case you can always learn and improve your work.

The design is based on Death Eaters masks, just a bit more fancy. The film version masks looked very nice.
Would be cool to have some power-hungry necromancer leading a death cult that sort of permeates through the magical society.

Witcher books are probably the best known example of Slavic folklore, I was considering them as a base for the game, before I've started with HP.
I really like the way books were implemented in Skyrim, I've tried my own version of that in one of my earlier games, so who knows, maybe I'll bring it back. In HP universe photos and paintings are alive, so that's also fun.
