It is literally a demo. It says it's a demo when you reach the end of the demo. Should they have made it more obvious that this is a demo? Sure, I would've liked to have known upfront that it's a demo, but you guys' expectations for a v0.0.1 are wild. You should really know better by now.
Positives:
- Actual drawn art (no generic assets, no AI slop, no obvious rip-offs)
- Darker theme (aiming for more realism)
- Easy redo button after losing a fight and seeing the H-scene (for the setting it makes sense that you only get scenes if you lose — this isn't a corruption game where the heroine becomes slutty)
- A different combat system (you can target individual body parts — cut off an arm to remove their weapon, aim for the head for a quick kill, etc.)
- Flavor text and hints (telling you to escape the mob because there's no way to legitimately beat them)
Negatives:
- The darker areas make navigating a little annoying, as it's hard to see what's a path and what's a wall.
- It's obvious English is not the dev's first language.
The people hoping for more than this from a demo are delusional. Also, love to see all the whining about this being a Patreon scam when the Patreon has only existed since this month. You're on a pirating website complaining about an optional donation method.
Yes, the 5-star review from what is most likely the developer is a little dumb, but can you blame the guy when so many games gets ridiculously unfair ratings based on personal preference, biased judging, and for the simple fact that it's "not better than X"? I don't condone it, but I'm also not going to immediately blacklist the game because of it.
Based on the version and what's currently in the game I'd rate it between 3.5/5 and 4/5. Would be a solid 4/5 if they fixed the lighting in some areas for better visibility.
