Oh, we know it's a hobby for him. He's said as much, and clarified that even further when he opened up subs. That doesn't change the fact that it's going at a slow pace or that he's been adding like 3 boss encounters' worth of mechanics to one fight few seemingly care for. It's very gushy scope. The 2d fighter style arena alone basically forced him to make a new game inside a preexisting game. You have to appreciate that Eluku probably isn't just developing this full-time. Developing this game is likely just a hobby he updates on weekends for fun. So we'll get whatever he feels like at the time, and it'll take however long it takes. Can't ask for much more than that.
I'm not trying to be mean, I just wish since he is just doing this as a hobby that he'd really reign in that scope. Spending an entire year (probably longer now) on a single boss is insane. For the record, a lot of indie devs also work on their project part-time until they get a successful release and can make do full time or at least lean on it more heavily.
That's true for almost all indie creative ventures, from novel writing to music, streaming, or being a youtuber. It's an explanation but not really an excuse.
