You may have noticed a few changes to the Patreon. There are only three tiers now. For the foreseeable future, the Patreon will revolve around writing the game, rather than developing every aspect at once. The team will not be expanded at this time. I'm going to proceed using placeholders in any future game builds and wait for the right artist to come along. I've also shortened the title of the game to just
Hero Trainer. It's cleaner.
In addition, I have taken on a new, original project, working with a dedicated artist who will launch his own Patreon. I can't say more about it at the moment, except that it's also a trainer game. Equal attention will be paid to both projects, but neither will take up all of my time. Honestly,
Hero Trainer has become somewhat of an albatross around my neck. I'm still enthusiastic about eventually finishing it, but at some point, I became obsessed with making it perfect, especially in the replication of existing character voices. That's not healthy and it's not what I originally intended. With an original project, I can take back control of my own, unique writing voice. I'm not giving up on making
Hero Trainer as authentic as possible, but I just need some room to breathe.
However, I'm still going to spend at least 20 hours a week working on
Hero Trainer. There will be writing updates every two weeks and monthly event line polls, starting next month. You'll see progress unlike ever before, because the only person I have to rely on is myself. I'm also totally free to spend all my time writing, whatever it is. I hope to have a placeholder-reliant demo out by summer's end at the latest. This Patreon will remain the sole source of updates about the game.
Thank you for the support.
