It's not like it'll take much to replace. It's not sprite animation anyway. All of the scenes are spine animated, which means that each texture is bound to a point that is easier to move around and animate with vs actual animations with each frame being drawn. It should be as simple as changing the sprite sheet to some kind of 2.5D models, unless he actually wants to animate 3D models.

For reference, Night of Revenge is spine animation

The first update already tanked the performance for me, and now it's going to 2.5D? I pray he optimizes it better because damn I need this game

deadass he is remaking to 2.5d? or its only the map?
because this for real is a bad decision honestly.

It doesn't seem that bad i just hope models will still be 2D or 2.5D and the cutscenes will be same quality as in the demo. And i seen such style in upcoming UzuraZanac game and it looks really nice so if Onyx feels better in this style lets hope for the best!
