I looked it up in the meantime - I was last charged June 2022.
I remember that he made a poll if he REALLY really should release what he had at some point after a lot of back and forth and in the end saying he was just releasing what was there, only to go back on it AGAIN with that poll.

Before I was still giving him the benefit of the doubt, also because he actually paused pledges often.
But that poll was my breaking point - being made easier because I was already getting more and more frustrated with the way WVM was heading with character reworks and duck faces.

Good thing I always split money between several DEVs and never went for the really high tiers on a single one - so in the end I 'only' lost 62€ before taxes - a lot less than the people who can't let it go I guess.
yeah that was the poll i think.at some point my comment there was deleted and i asked why the fuck was my comment deleted.
i remember he answert something about that the discussion is going toxic or something like that.
after that he banned me from pantreon.
and sadly i was a high tier pantron for at least 6 month.
so i wasted much more money.

I have even asked the developer of Cosy Cafe how they feel about a patreon member releasing the update early on here.... they didn't like it but are not that upset about it.
The devolopers have no choice but to accept that their content will be published here without their consent. That's why many use this circumstance to advertise here.

Honestly it's more than that, and WVM is the perfect example.
WVM grew because BD was very active here, and a lot of his early supporters (me included) supported him because of this thread. I think its very reasonable to say, considering the mediocracy of BD and WVM, he wouldn't have even half of the numbers he has without this forum. and you can say the same for a very substantial number of the medium-big AVN developers out there.

Having stuff leaked here early once in a while is a very very small price to pay for the ability to reach and impress a very large crowd of adults with money to spend, as the patreon model is already depends on voluntary supporters anyways.

That's what I wanted to express. Instead of complaining about the content being leaked on F95, most developers have used this to their advantage by being active here and promoting themselves. This is why many developers publish their content here for free. This gives them the opportunity to build a fan base. And that can pay off in the long run.

well anyway I am sure all of the negative comments will spur the developer to give you more free content even faster.
BD gets glazed constantly on his Discord and Patreon and he's been missing self-imposed release deadlines for almost four years now.

I think if I was him.... I would stop giving it for free, hardly anyone says anything nice about the game or him. Most people on here just complain.
Funny you should say that. He's already doing that. He's set up tiers for releases such that you have to pay to get content after a certain date. He made that decision around two years ago.

But I think he could have [WVM] removed if he wanted to.
No, he couldn't. Do you really not know that this is a pirate site?

Lots of posts about Braindrop and how horrible he is. Well I have never given him money, but I have played WVM many times, and I enjoy it. I like most of the characters, but main thing is I have enjoyed it.

I don't feel I have any place to talk shit about the developer, it's his game, and I look forward to a new update. But at the end of the day. I don't pay him. So I understand if you pay him and you are frustrated.

I just figure I am lucky I got to play for free.... Braindrop has a ton of Patreon subs, so he does not need to release it for free here... he could be an ass and just stop putting the game here. I think if I was him.... I would stop giving it for free, hardly anyone says anything nice about the game or him. Most people on here just complain.

But WVM is still one of my favorite games... hate on me if you want... I don't care.
peace.
Sorry, to say, he is not giving it for free, anywhere. This is a pirate site, that is the only reason you can get your hands on it for free.
This is the latest update post from Feb 1, it is still paywalled (it is only 1 dollar, but it is paywalled, without a free release.)

Would you buy a product that was ass finished? I don't think WVM is ready for prime time plus BD is a pirate himself. I doubt he pays his self employment taxes.

Honestly, I personally don't even like Patreon as a system for these games.
I get the point, a side income or potentially their main income so that they can fully concentrate on the game... but there are people like BD who ruin that potential in my eyes.

If it is a game I really like, I don't mind buying it on Steam if it is up there (bought quite a few already), but that's about it.

Also it's pretty good as a means to advertise your project, unless you have any social media (youtube channel ) and can create a cool trailer for your project and using the forum here with the youtube trailer can make the project have more fans/players and potential supporters

personally if WVM was only available as pay to play, i would never have played it. for what it is, it's not worth my money. and never has been even when it had decent time between updates.

Anyone wanna make bets if we reach 1 year without update and just "excuses"?
Nope, after 7 months, he paused the pledges. he will publish e14 and receive money in october at the latest. im sure he'll release e13 and e14 and these episodes will be ridiculous than usual :poop:. he will not make unnecessary promises when there is no money left to milk.

If he re-begin the pledges and make BS excuses without updates, he will lose a lot of subs this time.

in his latest "lifesign" dumbass post he plain admitted it that he did not even finished episode 14.
he is in the finishing touches for the first part of episode 14.

he had nothing to update in the first place in the time the fuss begann in the beginning of august, and now he is laying low to somehow to try to create some content because he knows that it is needed this time.

he did not expected that his discord was beginning to shitstorm against him too so now it is urgent.

He hasn't even dropped below 3,200 subs, even with the shit show that has been July and August.

If he hasn't taken a major hit yet, it is kinda scary to think what he has to do to actually get clocked.

Someone would have to discover something about him IRL and "cancel" him. Even then, he'd just have to open back up under a new name and start a new game, which he wants to do anyway judging by the amount of foot dragging, double talking and lying to cover up other lies, that we've been seeing more of lately.

well so long the pledges are paused no one is in a hurry to unpledge.
because he paused the payment every supporter who want to leave will probably wait because nobody who already is a supporter will not be charged so no harm in waiting what will happen next right???
only when he unpauses the payments and seeing what happens after that will show how many supporters he has/will loose.
