To be honest I couldn't tell you how many girls the game has. It so far in-between update I cant even remember the story of this game. It is sad when you have to replay the game every time there is an update.
story so far seems to be guys meets girls, guy adds girl to harem. Some shenanigans then more girls

BD does not have any passion for his game...He simply does it because he knows that he can make money from it...It's that simple and that is the reason that he does not quit it...

I can't believe I'm going to say this friend...
At first BD worked at a good pace, I won't say the best but it's okay.

After some time and this is completely my speculation, the guy got burned out on the game development, and literally left for something like 2 years, honestly it's not something strange that happens often when you focus on a task and don't give yourself time to take a breath.

After that he came back with a lot of encouragement... Honestly too much, he made very ambitious promises, if I remember correctly he promised 52 updates in a year or something like that... in addition to the supposed re-elevation of season 1.

The problem? He didn't keep his promise, he tried and had a decent pace after years of not working on it, but it didn't last long and it happened once again that he got burned out, and we are as we are today inconsistent but wanting to continue working on the game but without finding his way to do it well.

Add to this an endless number of excuses, lies and a complete lack of responsibility and no, I sincerely do not believe that it is because of the MONEY that he is not working properly, rather it is the money he earns that allows him to sink into that hole called "burned out."

Damn how did he use that much time on such a little update how long has it been almost a year or something.
8 month since the last beta release (Episode 13 Beta 3) and the last full update (Episode 12) was at the end of October 2023.

It doesn't really matter whether it's burnout or money. It might be a mix of both. The bottom line is, BD is a con artist who has used almost every excuse imaginable—ranging from claiming the game is a passion project and that he’s a perfectionist constantly reworking scenes, to citing personal tragedies as reasons for the delays. I’m honestly shocked he still has supporters. Maybe they admire his creativity in coming up with new excuses. That's the only reason I keep checking this thread every few months. I want to find out what his next excuse will be.

i wonder if Braindrop and the dick head that makes be a dik are the same person, a year for a update or longer. thats not how you are going get more people to your game folks.
Let's not veer into blasphemy lol . While there are indeed issue with the way things slowly move and advance in DIK ... the quality of those two games and their updates could not be further apart . When an episode did drop for DIk , it was actually substantial . And it's still coming from someone that actually finishes his games , and good ones at that .

DPC is open and honest about how long he and his team will take to complete an episode.

Each episode is extremely detailed, long, introduces new mechanics to keep it fresh, has a coherant story, massive replayability and is on time to the set timetable.

no one is bothered by long spaces between updates if they are advertised to us in advance (Light of my life for example) it's when developers lie and gaslight it's a problem.

Speaking about BaDiK, the reason I respect DPC is that he doesn't try to set release dates he won't be able to meet. Yes, a single update takes a good 10-14 months to make, but when a single path takes a good 8-12 hours per update, which means a good few days worth of gameplay per update, it's justifiable that he takes a while to get one released. Hell, he doesn't even give us a good timeframe until he's absolutely certain the game is close to ready and then only after the playtesting finishes up properly does he reveal when the update will drop.

Exactly people do not mind waiting for a update if the quality and the amount of play time for the months it took for the update is good. With BD he put out little 300 render updates ever 4 to 12 months. Which for the amount of time it take to get those small updates and how much he gets in support is unacceptable. I also respect BaDiK for not setting release date he cant meet. It's better to just say I am working on the update and I don't have any time frame for the release yet. I will post one as soon as I am sure I can meet the release.

With BD it the update is coming next week. Next week gets here and BD tells us some excuse or another of why he failed to meet the release date promises it will come in a few days to weeks and miss the those release dates over and over again. Then when we finally get it he has to spilt it up into tiny updates.

I remember when this game was just starting out - big and very frequent updates - even too frequent. Folks in the comments were advising BD to slow down to not burn out. And now I've realized that it was 5 years ago, damn (and BD has completely burnt out - or just lost full passion, but the money is too good).

I understand that and I'm not gonna pretend I'm immune to burnout. But I love doing this man. It's fun. It's crazy to think we live in a time that I can tell a story like this in this kind of way. I wake up every morning excited to add more to it. I spend all day thinking about what to add to it. I feel super accomplished whenever I see the file size going up.
Goddamn :D

looks like BD lost about 800 subs in the last 2 months since "update is coming" OG post, more than 25% of his entire cash flow

We won't spoil it, but the prostitution is not what you think. Too late, someone ruined it, phooey! Shame on you mosxyz and you suck Krypt. :p
I hope that, even if it isn't what I think (I have two options, the MC is the manwhore or some girls are the prostitutes), it can be avoided.
