Something just occurred to me and I'm disappointed I didn't realize this earlier. I've finally figured out what the hell is going on with BD. This might sound like a joke because I bash this moron all the time and he deserves it, but I'm serious here. I'm 99% percent certain that BD is a drug addict, and no I'm not trying to give him an excuse. It really explains all his behavior if you think about it. The lies, nothing getting done, the desperate need for money despite making a good living, and why he seems like a completely different person now. This is all incredibly common with drug addicts. Unfortunately I've had many friends and family members go through these struggles. So why this may seem like it's out of nowhere, trust me it's not.

A lot of you guys here know jack shit about VN devs in general, and still dare to review or judge or say were the bar is... HOW the fuck you can judge anything if you don't know the ceiling level. OFC you would find "Friends" writing FANTASTIC if everything you have watch before is "Sesame Street"...

But just for the sake of argument and sharing a thought about what you said, Id BD does use drugs wouldn't his familly take any type of measures to save his life from the addiction by sending him in a rehab clinic??? I mean no disrespect to you for thinking that but it seems logical to me that if i had a brother/son/nephew etc addicted to drugs to actually do something to help him out
update was pretty good, although the game is giving me some mystic/cult vibes. Maybe going to say the MC is "something" more than a normal person... some of his girls are addicted to him... to the point some are having serious withdrawal when his is not around. But maybe it is something else...
anyway I hope we get the missing renders and story soon.

"well i saw that thing in many college/highschool themed movies happening especially whent the protagonist is somekind of super star athlete ,many girls in those shows /movies go crazy for him

OH, you're just confused, I don't give a flying fuck what your taste is, but seeing what you consider "good writing" like this or grandma... I already know your taste SUCKS. And YES art is OBJECTIVE, all that bullshit that everything depends on taste is BULLSHIT. ALL art has parameters to measure it's quality. So, yes, you're totally entitled to have your own taste, and in your case, to be disgustingly horrible. I wouldn't give a fuck if you feed yourself with dog turds, but don't make ME pretend you're a "gourmet". You got it?

Well I'm not on the inside to have the answer to that. But if you want reasons why that wouldn't happen. They may have their own problems (drugs or other) or are simply enabling him not realizing the extent of the problem. You also forget that he is supporting them, if he wasn't lying about that. Which brings in the golden rule. He who has the gold makes the rules. He could also just say if I have to go to rehab I have to pause and then you can't pay your bills. There are a bunch of reason why they wouldn't or couldn't step in. I don't know the people he has around him. But addicts are usually surrounded with enablers and other addicts.
Look I don't know BD at all. Feel free to chalk this up as someone's random speculation. Though I'd bet real money right now that he'd fail a drug test today, and I don't mean for marijuana. There are simply to many signs for me to think I'm wrong. Hopefully I am because I wouldn't wish that on anyone. Even BD. Probably

At the rate BD is going with constant delays and content he claims is done but never materializes, I'm guessing 5+ months for b6 if it arrives at all.

I might be wrong but if the dev is a different person shouldn't he create a different Patreon account for the financing of the game ???I am just saying that is what i would expect if someone other than BD ever took over the game to make a new Patreon account

I thought this was a possibility at one point, because he seems so different and the development went off the rails. Looking at it realistically though I'd say it's highly unlikely. This game was so successful right from the start. How much would it take to buy it out? At least a few hundred thousand if it was me. That's just the starting point. If he kept a percentage of the game I'm sure he'd have the option to take the game back if the development wasn't to his liking or if the new developer was bleeding supporters. That's something you would do with someone you know and trust. Whoever this is sure as shit isn't trustworthy.

Yeah it's a nightmare. Hopefully it worked out okay for them.
Unless it's a friend and they didn't want anyone to know out of fear of losing support. I don't think that's the case, but it's possible. As much as things have gone off the rails I think he would've taken development back. Unless he's getting money and doesn't care.

I'm going to go out on a limb here and say he ain't working on shit and that we won't see anything until after the new year most likely after the Super Bowl.
This story is so all over the place from the original game, i feel like its 4 updates away from magic and dragons and him being some long lost royalty from another world.

I was bored and it seems I keep coming back to check on the train wreck that is WVM.
I have no idea about the quality of the last update or since I deleted the game. However, the subject of addiction being brought up is a serious one. It can take many forms, such as drug, alcohol or gambling.
From my basic knowledge of how addictions work is that until they admit there is a problem, nothing will change. Regardless of what the addiction is, or what lead to the addiction.
They might lie, cheat and steal to keep up thier addiction. It's easy to lie to people you don't have to deal with face to face. Especially when people keep trusting you to do better, and you keep failing each and every single time.
You don't have to steal so much when people just throw money at you. But your still being dishonest about how you actually earn that money.
And for cheating, you cheat people out of what you keep promising them, by over promising and under preforming time after time . He might have people willing to pay, but that don't mean he ain't cheating them.
I wish addiction on no one and not even saying BrainDrop is addicted to anything. At this point, I think If he said he had a problem , I would think he was lying about that and trying to use it as a crutch.
