Are you claiming they are lying?

Because i leat one of them has been a big supporter of the game since day 1....

But sure, there are always excuses for this kind of things...

If you are open, you dont remove criticism and you dont remove critics
It's semantics. You can be open about your stuff and not open to criticism.

Also, friendly reminder that freedom works both ways: you are free to support (and to stop supporting) a dev, and devs are free to refuse your support if they feel like it. $1 pledge versus some nasty comments I don't want to read (even if they are not actually nasty ones) seems like a no-brainer to me. Good riddance. After all, this patron didn't like what he was getting in exchange for his support, so why keep supporting BD, right? BD just did what the user should have done in the first place: stop paying for this.

and at the same time you follow the rules since that page is his own, he sets the rules.
and he did announced that , and if you are like you said a patreon you'd have known that but since you don't ... well that makes me wonder..
at the same time maybe you are a patreon but then the question becomes ..why are you choosing to ignore that detail?
doesn't matter in the end
like I said , carry on talking about things you have no idea but chose to sell them as facts :))
it is quite amusing I must admit.

I never said i was a patreon. Maybe you should start paying attention at what you read?

I have never been a Patreon of BD because by the time i started playing, he was already making big money and he didnt need it, so i opted to be patreo of other games

That being said, me being a patreon or not has nothing to do with what i was saying, but again, we go back to the first sentence of this message

You guys remember when this thread wasn't a toxic cesspool and a pretty cool place to hang out and talk about the game.
There was a game to talk about. That helps. Now, game-related topics have been exhausted and it's just a faith crussade about whether BD will be able to deliver or not. It's kind of natural, albeit sad. The average forumer's experience with these kinds of delays doesn't play in BD's favor at all. Now we could argue about what these pirates' opinions are actually worth, and why we all feel impelled to criticize others for how they choose to spend their own money. That's something we all should reflect on internally.

This 'day in the life of' has been mentioned several times as a planned feature like birthday cards and other side content, I'm not a Patreon yet I still recall a few posts about it. I do believe he has all those renders done. I do believe he just keeps editing and touching and discarding them and redoing them again and again and adding new better-looking ones and editing the text and creating yet some more renders that he then thinks are awful and he scratches them and starts over again and again. It would fit the personality he has been showing in his posts and interactions since day1. I do believe (at least most of) what he tells us is true: if he were faking it, if he were really able to put that show on us about his private life, I'm inclined to think his scripting skills would show in the game's script - and they don't. Yet anything he says actually matters now: it's just been too many months without a proper update and people are going to get mad anyway.

I simply don't believe that he's sitting on 2k complete renders.

you do realize that the patreons voted for longer updates and waiting for the dev to finish the update right?
when they were given the choice.
so.. your comment is .. stupid at it's best.
at least the part about the patreons...
also calling this dev a scammer is so .. siilly to put it in the nicest way...
but I guess people such as yourself and others who have posted here have nothing better to do.
carry on.
are you a patreon?
With that logic we will have 99% of the new devs giving up very soon.
When you are an independant worker, you have to have funds on your own for your own first project. or you have to present at least 50% of your project to get funds. It is a business.
Most "developers", if you can call them that, post a "chapter one" that can be played in 15 minutes and hope that you are going to fund the rest of their project.
I am not the one who is wrong here. They are. Their mindset is wrong to start with. If people are smart about who they are going to show support and invest their money, most of these developers, who aren't really developers won't exist and will be left only those who are really willing to work and have an actual project to be supported.
Funny how the wrong becomes right and the right becomes wrong;
99% of those devs, if they aren't serious about their project they shouldn't exist. And it is not the supporter fault.
No one should start supporting people for a 15 minutes gameplay chapter. You can't even call that person who deliver a 15 minutes project a developer.
And if they are to be independant as I said, they have to have at least 50% of their project done. People will pay for those 50% and support the next updates. Reason why my way to invest on these kinds of games comes from Steam. Others only get my support when I see they are a reliable developer.
I don't know where you took this idea that we should support their work since the start as if we were their mom or dad.
Even streamers on twitch, that are also supported by subscribers, invest on their gear first.
They have to have a good pc, mic, camera, etc to be a good streamer and deliver good content. That means they invested some time and money on what they are willing to do.
I can tell you that 99% of those wannabe developers that you mentioned only 1% of those will actually finish their project even with support.

I already stated my conjecture about those renders, which is just a personal belief, like yours. Only that mine is based on what I've read from BD since he started making this game, and yours is, most likely, based on your experience with other devs (or on others' experiences with other devs)
Maybe those 2k renders aren't ready for making one big, linear update. He might have different scenes ready but not other minor scenes to link them, so he can't just release the whole pack as it is, but he can start to release smaller chunks and force himself to connect them in proper order. I can totally see why in a moment of blocking he could have been editing 'already done' scenes to the point that what once was almost ready to go is now in a serious need of even more work to make it a whole, coherent thing again.
We'll see (hopefully).

Since mine does exactly what it should be doing may I ask your setting for how many posts shown per page? Mine is 60, so if you have anything different your link version may not work correctly.
Mine, like the vast majority of people, is set to DEFAULT

Which is 20, BTW

So do not bother linking as long as you are using non-default settings
You will always be sending people wrong unless they have your particular same modified per page settings

Screen cap is your friend instead

So the streamers are the good one, because they invested in hardware.
A dev who payed for at least a new GPU, assets and the electricity on the other hand has to buy all that by himself.

Not speaking about one or two hour prepearing for a stream compared to hundreds of hours making a VN.

Sounds a little bit ... biased.

A dev that has delivered 2 hours+ playtime has shown that he is into that work.
At least if you look at daz VNs with good renders.

Or he can link using the correct option, which is the share this post option, and is independent on the page which makes it independent on how many posts per page you have

When BD asked that question he had, for the most part, been putting out 100-200 render updates every week so it was implied that, if he was moving to a 2-3 month cycle then we should be getting, at the absolute minimum 800 render updates every 2 months or, at the other end of the scale 2400 render updates every 3 months.

If he does in fact have a 2000 render update ready to go right now then that is, given the amount of time which has passed since the last update, approximately half the size the patrons should expect to recieve assuming he was consistently hitting 100 per week and potentially a quarter of it.
