Don't worry, I don't actually support the idea of killing off LI's. I sure won't be killing off any LI's in my game. I mean the best games imulate life to some degree, so someone's eventually gonna die, but not an LI...

Lots of these games have death in them, one on this site starts with the parents death and reconciling the children, another is about taking care of a friends little sister after the friend dies, another is about jumping through hoops to get an inheritance from a very twisted dead father, and one very harsh one has the MC's best friend die at the end.
How many of these incest games start with "After your father's death..."

Why are so many people trying to re-write the story for the Dev? Dudes/Dudettes, if you want to make a VN game and write a story, go write your own. Don't tell someone else what they should do.

WVM is great as it is. Few porn games give you that feelsgood vibe as well as WVM does. Feels more like a family than some actual families. I don't care if he adds a hundred more characters as long as he keeps being the MC who takes care of everyone.

There are quite a few other games that give you that "feelsgood vibe" with characters that feel "more like a family than some actual families", but they actually succede in telling a story at the same time. some of them very heartwarming, with morals and everything.

WVM at this point is like fucking a Braindead person in the Hospital bed. It´s already dead, but ppl still cling to it for some reason.
The only way BD could redeem himself is by starting a new project under a different name. But guess what? He won´t ever do that because he´d lose all the free money he´s getting for doing jackshit.

I've been playing it way longer. Just haven't been around on F95 for very long, nor am I very active on here. Only recently found out that it tends to be the quickest updates and miss less titles than other sites. This is just one of my fav VNs and so it bugged me that all the talk about the update is people trying to push their own "ideal version". I understand that "early access" gaming is a bit of an exception, but usually, consumers of creative expression don't get a say in the product. Just let the creator create their work, then like about it what you like about it, dislike what you dislike. Plus we're all freeplay consumers. If you want a say in the game get a Patreon, idk about this dev specifically but some do take polls about what people who actually support their work want to see.

If you don't like WVM because it's not realistic enough for you, then feel free to make a VN about a guy who looks at girls from a distance. It's a sexual fantasy for a reason. If you don't like people falling in love with your character or having sex with him, I don't really know what you're here for. It's feelsgood because he becomes a positive influence in their lives, and they support him in return. There are porn games on the taboo/darker/manipulative side and games on the feelsgood/vanilla-with-fetishes side. To me, WVM is on the latter side. There are also games that leave it up to the player to choose to take the kind or manipulative approach, but those stories still tend to progress in a linear fashion and "having to fit both paths" affects the story.

Of course, you're free not to like it. But why are you trying so hard to convince other people not to like it? When I don't like a creative product, I just don't spend any time on it. If you wanna give up on the game, feel free. But why try to undermine something that other people enjoy?

There are people complaining at the same time about some LI love story progression being too slow, whilst at the same time complaining about characters throwing themselves at the main character too much. In the end it's a Harem-focussed game, so the main LIs get the most screen time. And I'm sure it sucks when your favourite LI hasn't progressed as far as you'd like, or hasn't gotten a lot of screen time. But I have a broad appreciation both in terms of personality and appearance so I don't have that problem.

And you say there isn't any story, but that's just not true. There are lots of storylines developing in paralel. There's also lots of sex scenes. It's a great game. ^_^

Yes, the creator has creative control, that's kind of an obvious statement, but we'll come back to this in a moment when I address your comments about paralel storylines. I want to touch on the "we'll get back to basketball and the house soon enough" statement first because you mention storylines in multiple places. As for the basketball, how can we get back to something that we have barely even started? If the story so far is any indication, basketball will be a very small part of this basketball story. As for getting back to the house...How long before we move again?

I could say the same thing about an encyclopedia, but it's not something most people want to sit down and read straight through. Braindrop is a game developer with, by your own admission, multiple storylines. Paramount global is a mass media conglomerate that owns multiple TV shows. However, Paramount was wise enough not to turn 7th Heaven, The King of Queens, CSI, 90210, NCIS, Everybody Hates Chris, NUMB3RS, Gossip Girl, Hawaii 5-0, The Vampire Diaries, and Rules of Engagement all into one huge multi-storylined show.

If BD had stuck to one storyline, he could have finished WMV by now and already be on his second game, Hearts for Hope, or Crazy Rich Yacht Women. Instead, he includes every random storyline that pops into his head and ends up writing himself into a corner and then skips ahead promising to do a rework later. He did that first with Chapter 1, and he just did it again when he left the latest part unfinished and jumped ahead to 14 because he doesn't know how to finish 13.

We don't complain because we want creative control over the story. We complain because BD lets his creativity push the story out of control to the point that even he doesn't know how to bring it back. In all honesty those who complain the most are some of the ones that care the most. We are the ones that have been playing this the longest and don't want to see him end up burnt out and the game abandoned.

I was with BD at the begining. I was a supporter on Patreon. I got tired of watching him struggle with himself. I stopped supporting him financially(Couldn't afford it, I battled cancer and won), but I still play the game and I want to see him succeed. I'd hate to see WVM abandoned. I began commenting on here. At one point I was told. "If you don't like it make your own game." So, as a graduate of the Art Institute of Dallas and also having a BA in English Lit from UNT, I decided to do just that.

I know how hard it is to be a dev, and I worry that BD is going to burn out if he doesn't change something. Other games have been completed in the time it has taken hin to do 2 incomplete chapters. You can sit on a ray of sunshine and look only on the brightside through your rose collored glasses rimmed with silver linings, but those of us who have been following him for 5 years are worried how long this will survive if something doesn't change.

True but atleast the original story made sense generational basketball prospect turns a D5 school into a contendor. Its not even that anymore i honestly cant even tell whats the story anymore the tone switch between before the bowling event and after feels like two different games

This however does not change the fact or rather notion , that there are still levels of quality within those games and the genre , and still create some minimum expectations . And that the same applies to more than the writing , aspects like art , content , consistency of updates , pacing , graphics , animations etc etc .
And there is such a thing as at least making sense within your own universe , and not throwing everything away randomly

What you don‘t seem to understand is that a lot of us in here were Patrons in the past until BD started scamming ppl when he was going radio silent for 2 years while still taking our money. Dev Report #35 (March 24th, 2024)

Yo!

I made a book-sized report last week, this one isn't short but it's smaller.


As I mentioned in the last report, I will not be sharing any release dates until things are compiled and ready to be uploaded.
My current plan is to finish this scene I've been working on for Episode 14 before making any final decisions for the ending of Episode 13 where I'll then re-evaluate how I feel about it and make any changes I deem necessary before uploading it for all of you to play.

The update will be available to all tiers upon release, no tier timings.
It's shaping up to be 800+ renders and 20+ animations. (400 renders from the end of Episode 13, and 400 renders from the start of Episode 14.)
I do not plan on including all of Episode 14 in the upcoming update but Episode 14 will be the last update of Chapter 1 of Season 2. Meaning Episode 14 will include all of Days 37 and 38.
The plan is for Episode 14 to be around 900-1000 renders long so I'd say it's somewhere between 40%-50% complete.

It has been a very productive week, I was able to make 124 new renders and 3 new animations and another 70 renders for the redo. I added Armani, Aubrey, and Azel to the character sheets channel on discord, I made a lot of progress on finishing the basement and other rooms in the main home (Won't be seen in the upcoming update but they will be needed for the one following it), and I've almost finished writing for all of the scenes in Chapter 2.
(And just a quick heads up that chapter 2 will be quite a bit shorter than chapter 1 was in terms of render length but Chapter 2 will take us from Day 39 to Day 52. As mentioned before, there will be little time skips where the MC focuses on training so these days won't be giga-packed like Day 32 was.)

So, I'm afraid there's still nothing concrete to share right now, I should finish this scene for Episode 14 this week and I hope that gives me the ability to speak with a little more certainty in the next report.
And as far as pausing pledges go, I'm currently unsure if I will be this month or not. I want to, but after pausing 5 of the last 6 months I'm getting to a point where I'm not comfortably able to. Every month that was paused I continued to work, I was mainly pausing because I set goals that I was unable to meet.
In the event that I do unpause, everything that will be released in April will be made available to all former patrons via the discord so there is no pressure to have to keep your pledge active. You won't miss any posts as long as you join the discord by linking your discord to your patreon or subscribestar account.
