On one hand, the "curse of the western game dev" trope/joke is about this tendency, so I agree with you.

On the other, I think BD has become a fairly extreme example. Even if I try to be generous to BD, I think he's at or at least near ICSTOR levels of milking.

Just had a thought. If he's using Hurricane Helene as his excuse for a power outage cockblocking his upload, that tells us his general location (eastern US, from the coast to 2-3 states west).

If any big disasters happen in the regions farther west, he shouldn't use those as an excuse. Will he?

I mean once he got the power back on he just going to say that Helene destroy all his computer and now all the data are gone. Then he beg his Patreon to let him unpause to help his livelihood.

Yea hes always been known to be EST just not sure exactly where, he is a Steelers fan but that doesn't mean he's PA for certain. I got a feeling we will ride this power outage for awhile as a good chunk of the east coast it down right now so he 100% will use this until the last reported power outage is fixed llol

nope no matter how honest he is now he still missed HIS DEADLINE.
all that came after the already missed deadline.

September 26 it was and on the 28th there was still nothing,and after half a day later the power was out.

Anyone in his Discord check if he is on Discord mobile he should have symbol. if he doesnt he is on his pc and has power lol
unless he has learned to cover up his lies better.

well no battery from a smartphone lasts that long,unless he has a laptop with one or two spare batterypacks.

It’s nice to see the discord start to devolve again and people on here try to explain why they think this time the reason he was not able to upload the day of, next day and day after that is because he is affected by the hurricane. From what I saw he never said it was the hurricane, just that he randomly lost power and his battery backups needed to be replaced. He will come up with some excuse to explain away why he can’t upload when he gets power back and the claim he has to turn back on pledges on the 30th to recover from the non existent damage.

Anyone that believes a word out of his mouth is deluded beyond help.

The problem with a laptop is he'd at the very least need Wi-fi, which requires power. But, this is BD; he always forgets his lies and contradicts his falsities. But also, with all the Patreon money he has, he could realistically drive somewhere with power and stay in a hotel with free Wi-fi. But, that would require logic, something BD is severely lacking.

no there are modells that do have wi-fi and a sim card slot for a mobile connection.
i have one of those called tablet-pc.
i don´t know if they are selling those models in the US but here in europe we have those.
