Would have been an interesting twist. But its just the final enshittification of that marriage.
Apparently explaining it to the mom will be a thing, as that plotline started in 19. But probably in true Birdie-fashion it will be glossed over.

The story is a hot mess right now, as it’s not even a classic cuckold/NTR marriage. Miyu still clearly loves her husband, and I think birdie should drop this plot and create new characters.
Plus, Birdie herself doesn’t know what to do. She’s saying she would try to get Miyu and her husband closer to each other, but it’s like… what?
Wish she went back to Miwa instead. Its always about Miyu these days...

I disagree. I think the story can open up in several new ways: The MC gets a new job in a different city, leading up to a wacky new job. Perhaps a fun neighbor moves in next door, and the fact that they're complete opposites leads to some hilarious hi-jinx. Oh, and maybe a small green alien that only the husband can see that grants wishes.
