I don't want to drag the game for too long stuffing it with fillers and irrelevant content just for the sake of milking time.

Currently I have structured seven chapters in total, the content within each is separated in main topics, those which branch out into secondary and tertiary others.
Chapter 1 (next update) for example, has enough content for you to play it twice and experience different content each playthrough and that will increase over time. But the total of Chapters is most likely to stay as I currently planned, seven chapters (not including the Prologue ofc).

If you wish to claim an IQ above 48, kindly learn to spell. And while what you described may be more "soft porn" (think Skinemax), it's still porn. And, don't worry - your kids will find the porn they like on their own, no need to share it with them. That's just bad parenting and really creepy.

Mad in agreement with this. I mean I'm not into harem at all if I must be honest. I'm more of a story focused player when it comes to VN's so I don't care at all about the porn aspect of it or how many chick's the MC can bang. I'd do without it if I could actually. Like i don't mind the sex just as long as it's done naturally and not treated like porn. If it's a porn game then sure by all means make it a fuckfest, that's the point of a porn game after all. But when it comes to story driven adult visual novels I prefer the sex to be kept at a minimum and only occur when the story calls for it. This game feels more like a story driven Adult visual novel than it does a porn game so im hoping for the best. But we'll see. It's obvious most people who play these games just want to jack off and couldn't care less about the story so often times devs will appeal to that. Hopefully this isn't one of those times.

It’s been three months since I started working on Chapter 1, since then I made new features for the game client (Character’s Bios and Music Player) as well as the story expansion itself.

The next update is nearing it’s final phase, I’m really happy with how much I was able to make during this time, juggling between my full-time job and the game’s development is a totally new experience for me.

I am now in what I can call the final stretch, been working extra on posing the scenes and revising the content each day, rendering them is unfortunately almost out of my hands since all I can do is try to optimize them as much as I can so they don’t take too long to render.

While the scenes are rendering I’m doing some smaller things like working on the UI and getting more musics selected.

Here’s a peek on one new character coming in the next chapter, just because...

That said, I also don't think it's only "rooted in reality" when girls are only OK if they are monogamous. Depending on where and when a story takes place, a harem / harem-like situation is reality or effectively so. (Even the modern-day hookup culture is something of a mimic of actual harems.) But if one were to judge reality by the ocean of harem games, they would get the mistaken impression that it's tons more common than it is. Harems in actuality are / have been pretty rare — both in occurrence in history as well as in quantity compared to the overall number of relationships in the world.

Yep. That's why I said "something of a mimic of actual harems", not that it was just like a harem. The idea that one person can have multiple partners and those partners shouldn't get upset is sort of the idea behind hookup culture. But obviously I'm not saying it's the same. For one thing, with hookup culture, the guy might be able to be with multiple women, but the woman could also be with multiple men. That goes directly against one of the core elements of an actual harem, where LIs "belong" to one person. Another point would be what you said about the attractiveness level of those participating in hookup culture IRL.

My point was that pretending there's no semblance whatsoever with reality in a harem game is, in fact, ignoring reality. But a semblance obviously doesn't equate to an actual harem. And like you and I both have said, actual harems are pretty rare overall. The number of AVNs with that kink is by far disproportionate to the number of RL harems. LOL.

Yeah. And I have seen at least one game where the developer tried to do the full game with only a couple of LIs initially and then going through and adding a whole new route throughout the game. But that seems like it wouldn't work generally. You're basically asking folks to replay an entire game (basically) after you already know the ending. What's more, bugs are likely introduced as new branches and variables are added and get addressed throughout the code. So I don't think that process would work, either.

I do enjoy the escapist fantasy of the occasional harem VN myself (whether it's a proper harem where all girls know about all the other girls and they all just so happen to be fine with it, or a "harem" where the girls don't know about each other and they somehow never find out - for the sake of this discussion, let's not split hairs between those two). I just hate to see devs who prefer to write women who get jealous or possessive over their man, get bitched at by a community that have, for better or for worse, been spoiled by the absolute glut of harem/"harem" games out there. Some of them openly admit they're just annoyed by the fact they cannot watch all the lewd content in a single playthrough, a convenience they've been accustomed to in other games. So essentially they want the dev to compromise the story he/she wants to tell just so that they can easily 100% it. I hope you can agree with me on how ridiculous that is.

Eventually, yes!

For now I'm mainly focusing on getting the overall game client working well, Chapter 1 is right around the corner too and this update will add a lot of things already.

When I do a Steam (and maybe GoG) launch I want to have enough content in the game to justify the purchase itself.
