I can vouch that it is as sandbox as any other game around here, more like half the Sahara in a shipping container. And it is indeed a great game with an interesting setup, arguably one of the most ambitious ones on here, which to my admitted utter surprise still works despite the insane amount of freedom to roam around time and space later on. I enjoyed my time with it a lot generally, and am looking forward to revisiting (though I'll have to start over to get the feel for it again).Hey konabwo, I follow your signature here since I love sandbox games (And hate VNs)
I saw you on my game thread so I know you are aware of it, but for others, I would like to shamelessly plug my own game:
Time Loop Hunter : It's a time-manipulation adventure where you have to recollect the memories of whatever you do in a time loop and use it in your favor.
It's mislabeled as VN but it's a 100% sandbox!
Cheers!
One major downside though: after getting the hang of how it works it still is incredibly convoluted (which I mean here only as "mindnumbingly complex", not as unbelievable and incomprehensible storylines outside the basic premise) and you will need a pile of paper and a pen to sort it all out or have to try every permutation of choices (you cannot lose no matter how stupid you act, which is logical in this game however). Alternatively of course you can use the presented walkthrough which will show you (as far as I know) all available content - however it is difficult to keep track where precisely you are at times and "joining the walkthrough" after getting stuck somewhere during the game, then playing on is also not working too well since you may need to revisit earlier steps (revisiting earlier steps is one thing you'll do a lot anyway, there's a hint in the title about why that is) and sometimes remember what you already did. And just following the walkthrough click by click wouldn't be too far off from a kinetic novel, the very antithesis of a box.
That being said, I will repeat that I consider it a great game if the above does not deter you and if the internal logic and the pathing still work at the end, I will lift multiple hats.
As for the wrong labeling - you should be able to report the original post, so it can be changed, no?
