I clicked on the dog, and it showed me the key but having it doesn't seem to change anything. She still insists to "make a run for it", and resets to another attempt. And I don't know who is "the girl" to get a combination from, or even a lock to use that combination on. The only girl I run into is Itsuki, twice, the first time accusing of "kinda perving on my friend", then again when she returns the leaf skirt that fell off... right before resetting to the home front door.

I can understand that. I can never remember shit either.
But never mind: I didn't realize that when you retry after failing, you can still remember things from previous attempts. Now that I deduced that tiny little fact, I was able to get through the first chapter.
