It was a remake of an abondened game... I think the original title was Life x Demon or something like that.
He switched artists to Glassfish and developed it along AZL, than switched to Urban X Demon while putting AZL on hold and after nearly completing it he started to develope Solarion Project as a side project that took more Dev time than Urban x Demons... Urban X Demon however wasn't put on hold but actually finished... it just took more time as his new project received higher priority... shortly after finishing Urban x Demons Nergal "finished" AZL.
...If I am not mistaken Nergal also developes 2 projects side by side right now
Yes, Urban Demons was a fan made game of UrbanxLife, the dev was Wootch, I remember that UrbaxLife was launched in 2013 and was abandoned, later in 2015 Wootch made a revamp and was abandoned again, later in 2016 Nergal started Urban Demons.
UrbanxLife had an interesting story but the art was bad.

you know what? you're really annoying me, you know. Why? because you totally overlooked what MY POINT IS.

MY POINT IS that this game

- has almost NO content after 1 year
- has almost NO SEX CONTENT
- is grindy as hell
- is boring
- is a shabby copycat
- isn't funny at all

RIGHT NOW.

So, what I really want to say is: don't waste your time downloading it NOW.
1) It's been 8 months, not a year. and that's only since the thread was made. The first actual release version of the game came out in february, which is 5 months. There was an Alpha in the very end of december, that was clearly marked a proof-of-concept, alongside the full release of ZR 1 the same month.
So you're already making things up.

2) The game does have very little sexual content, this is true. There's 4 scenes so far but if the devs track record is anything to go by there will definitely be more. So I'm not worried. It's also the reason there's only been two updates, because the Dev wanted to have more content while they developed the maps and systems. The sex scenes are also dependent on the artist, and ScarlettAnn is notoriously slow and is also working on other games (Prince of Suburbia got an upate just now) so that bottlenecks the production.

3) the grinding issue is a bug, and should be fixed in the update posted above.

4) that its boring is subjective, so that's up to you. That its not funny is also subjective, but I'm also completely weirded out that you looked at a Porn Zombie-apocalypse survival game where most of the population in a city has been wiped out and then thougt 'this should be funny'. Were you expecting zombie clowns that you fuck?

5) Originality isn't be the be-all-end-all of things, it's execution that matters. Warcraft is a Warhammer ip copycat. Dead Space is a rip-off of System Shock. League is a dota copycat. Dota 2 is a dota copycat. There's a billion WW2 shooters. There's a trillion anime games with bland protagonists and harems set, etc.... You get the point.

You're free to not download the game and 'warn' people, but people are also free to point out where you're wrong and to not care about your opinion.

Also on the 'milking' front, I really don't think Siren is doing that. They've been very consistent and up-front about when and what is going to be released. I'd say Summertime Saga and Innocent witches are the benchmarks for 'milkers' to me. This developer doesn't even come close and it's not like they're telling people there will be releases every month.

The game was actually abandoned by Nergal at one point, somewhere in 2018, I think? I remember because I was in his Discord and he was depressed as all hell. I just did some searching in my post history and found the thing I made for someone else on the timeline of these games (with references):

Nergal basically abandoned Zombie's Life at one point (started in 2016). Siren started Zombie's Retreat, because AZL was abandoned, with the same themes (2018). This project also has the same artist as AZL, mostly because everyone but Nergal wanted to continue the project. Years later Nergal came back and, reluctantly, did the final parts of AZL (2019). Nergal has no desire to make another Zombie's Life game or continue and only made the final parts because people complained. (I still haven't been able to finish AZL due to bugs and crashes)

EDIT: oh but you know this because you were there for the abandoning.

In my memory Nergal rectified his declaration of wanting to abonden AZL because of the hard feedback he received for it and instead put it on hold for an unproclaimed time... this was also the reason why Siren changed plans for Zombie's Retreat (1), instead of a fan remake it was ment to become a game similiar and inspired by AZL.
I am not sure wether his change of heart nullyfies the "abondened" project message or not, that's for everyone to decide.
But yes I also mentioned that he returned to "complete" AZL after finishing UrbanXDemon

"RPG Maker MV Cheat Menu Plugin" Doesn't seem to work with this game. It has worked on the previous games made by this developer and literally every other game I've ever used it on but this game produces a black screen with a "Failed to load Cheat_Menu.js" message. Perhaps this is foreshadowing. The last time the plugin had an update was over a year ago.

The water filter does work. It adds water automatically. The problem was that water requirements where set too high. So it game the impression that it wasn't working. Also the issue with Jenny is known. Apparently it was fixed in the update that just went live few minutes ago.
Do you happen to know the location of the water filter? I can't find it anywhere.

In the West District you can find a set of stairs that leads you to a sort of water plant. There is an office but the door is locked, to open it you must fish the key from one of the tanks with a Fishing Rod. In the office you will find the blueprint for the water filter (you can build it in Fiona's workshop)

Hey, I had a similar issue.
You're in the right district, but you need to go a screen further to the left/West.
In the leftmost middle of the map is an alley that opens up against the side of the map. This is not a stopping point, you can walk through it to another screen. (I'll go and make a screenshot and edit it in here.)

It's not really well-indicated but it's there.
You'll find the rest on your own. :)
