OK, once the game starts we can make videos, but how? All I do is walk around and tell people about the animals.

Go in to each animal house and interact with the animal in there. That'll give you options about whether to film a video indoors or outside.

If you can't do that, you need to progress the story a bit--leave the initial area and go speak to your boss in the office.

Yes it's 1.0, I'm not able to find the updated version and yeah.. reached a game breaking bug that doesn't let you continue (black screen)...
