Kaine is not trans. She is intersex girl. She was born with female personality, voice and look and male genitals due some issues (lore spoiler). Make some research and do not confuse people.
Kaine is pretty girl and great person (if you don't mind her foul language). There is nothing wrong to like her.

Yeah I know, Im nearing the end of the new game but still she’s not 100% female and I do like her character
