Hey guys!
This time, instead of a character preview, I'm back with a "true" development update. So prepare yourself for a longer read!
Today I want to show you the in-game GUI, how to move around Shattered Minds' places, and what the world map looks like.
Let's start with the world map and from there we dive further into the world of the game.
This is it. The town of "Spring Hill", where Shattered Minds is based, is represented on this map.
The buildings you can see on this map are the locations you can visit. Of course, these locations again consist of many sub-locations/rooms, but more on that later.
That's pretty much how the game looks like when you start anew.
Locations that are grayed out and have a lock icon on it must first be unlocked by the player.
To do this, you'll have to complete quests and advance in the plot. For example, to unlock the park, you have to complete Sarah's first quest. By the way, this quest is already included in V0.01!
As the game progresses, more and more locations will be added for you to visit and explore.
And of course not only locations, but also girls and activities to fill them!
The clouds you see in this picture are animated and moving, so they shouldn't block your view.
Maybe some of you remember, in the announcement post for Shattered Minds I still talked about there being only two locations as a start: The college and the MC's home.
As you can see, I threw this concept to the wind and turned the game into a functioning "world." That gives the game a much more realistic feel!
Now let's go one level deeper, into the MC's home.
Here you can see the top level anteroom.
The house consists of several rooms, a total of 9.
Objects you can interact with light up when you hover the mouse over them.
So far, so familiar from other games. To enter rooms, you simply click on the doors.
Let's take a closer look into the living room now.
Same as before, objects that gets highlighted are interactable. Use the arrow at the bottom to get out of the room and return to the previous one. In this case the lower level anteroom.
Let's continue by clicking on that girl over there!
This leads you to the possibility of interacting with a person such as talking to her/him.
Use the arrow on the right to end the conversation and return to the previous screen.
Let's move on to the last part for today, the GUI.
As you move through the world of Shattered Minds you will always have these 3 icons at the top right of your screen:
The first one is the map icon, with which you jump from any room/location of the game back to the worldmap. This is quite useful to move on quickly.
The next on is the players smarthphone. Click on it to open it and be able to interact with all the apps.
The last one is a calendar which shows you the current day of the week as well as the current time slot (morning, noon, afternoon). By clicking on the calendar you can advance to the next time slot!
On the upper left side of the screen you can see brain icons:
These indicate how many times you can use your mind control ability on that given day. In this case once more time.
Your daily potential uses are replenished while you sleep. You will be able to utilize your power more often later in the game once you have advanced a few levels.

1 brain icon = 1 use of your power
Both icons are colored means you can use your power 2x this day:
After you use your power once, one brain icon turns gray, meaning you can use your power one more time that day:
Once you used up your power for that day, both brain icons are greyed out:

Looks good but three worrisome items:
1) Mind control - is a romantic tension killer which undermines hawt events
2) First person POV - makes kissing horrible with fish hook open mouth scenes - not sexy at all
3) First person POV sex scenes - are not as hawt as third person ones
Please consider 3rd person POV sex & kissing scenes

1) It doesn't have to be, it always depends on how you use mind control or to what extent it is possible at all.
2) will take a look into this and experiment with POV and third person view, thanks for feedback!
3) for every sex scene in the game you can choose between at least 2 camera angles, one of which will always be POV and one of which will always be 3rd person.

One question, one suggestion.
Question first, any cameo (minor or major) from Fates?
Suggestion: More woman with smaller or tiny breasts. Many games of that types are... overboobed*?
*New word I guess. You know what I mean. Too many woman characters with big/huge breasts which in my honest, peasant opinion - is silly.

What could be really good is if the tits be used for real in the sex scenes. Show MC kissing, sucking, groping, and squeezing the ladys's boobs really hard. Sometimes i feel the MCs of these games only care about the boobs when they see the women for the first time, but when he finally get to fuck them, the last part of their body explored during sex are the boobs.
Regarding cameo from Fates:
Yes, I'm contemplating about that idea.
However, I'm not sure yet which one, when this one might show up, and how this one fits into the plot of Shattered Minds.
But I'd like to make this happen in some way.
Regarding the "boobs problem":
My goal is to bring a variety of different body types into the game.

Shattered Minds Character Preview: Chloe
We're nearing the end of the character previews and have reached perhaps the most significant characters.
This is Chloe, your roommate. (Name can be set by you)
Now, what is there to say about Chloe:
She is so focused on her grades it almost hurts!
She won't let anything stand in the way of her academic success and will stop at nothing to get it!
Making her the smartest girl on the whole campus.
She almost has no other hobbies save her books; she has never even heard of the word "fun."
If only Chloe understood what she was missing out on! Poor poor Chloe, living such a boring life.
Time to show her that life has much more to offer!

Is it me or Chloe has got massive bags under her eyes? Is it intended to show that she doesn't get enough sleep?
