Hey, I'm wondering if anyone can imagine what's going wrong for me and point me toward a solution, please. I extracted normally and find an application titled qspgui which opens to a blank QSP page, but not a playable game application. It appears like a usual extraction with some other folders you would expect to see with some .dll files and so on. Thanks for your consideration. ~ LJ

Run the qspgui file. You then select "Quest" and then "Open game" from the menu bar. You then just open the game file you wish to play.
Alternately, you can press Alt-O to open th game file.

Thanks for your assistance. I get the opening screen of the game when opening the zloeng QSP file, which was the only practical file to use via "open game" quest, but have no actions to take and no apparent interface for moving beyond that. I've opened all the internal qsp windows via show/hide settings and find no way of starting. Restarting just resets the window to the simple opening screen with the statue and quotation, etc. I otherwise tried to open a saved game, but none are available. *puzzled* Heh, even if it won't run properly, I'm curious to grasp what the issue is. Thanks, again.

Hey it's me, still alive (barely) and modding! Umm, let's see...

I thought I added a backdoor to forming gangs that worked if you had an addict friend and a gun, but I could look at it again. As a workaround, I think you can start as a male character, form a gang, and transition to female and you'll keep the gang?

The follower system, to put it nicely, is "bare-bones". Putting it more realistically, it's half an idea slapped onto the game and called a feature. The only significant thing I remember the follower system being used for, is cuckold content, but that might just be the most obvious feature. It involved taking a dominant wife to the black quarter and letting her fuck them in front of you.

As for actual plans for either of those features, I'll try to look at them when I have time and see what I can add. For now they are not a priority, but if I find few small things I can add in here and there I certainly will.

It is automatically deducted at the end of the day. Your whores and camwhores specifically need to make an profit for Mabuta to not get pissed. Making 0 profit off your whores and camwhores combined is literally the only bit of code I could find with a quick search that pisses Mabuta off, giving you the message 'Mabuta anything you have not earned, he will not be satisfied.' in your daily report.

In other words, you are already giving Mabuta his cut, he's just getting pissed because there is no cut to give him.

I crash whenever I click "go to the capital". Also crash whenever I run qspgui.exe. Since I also play Girl Life and Clean Slate, both of which use a specific QSP version - could there be a compatibility issue here? Any way to ensure this game is run with the correct version of QSP?

Yes, only the official version works 100%. Other versions such as 1.9, the beta version, and Qspider are not supported:

Apparently the proper version of player is included in the OP's linked zip files. As for the version, I believe it was the official version, 5.7.0 (official website link:

Yo, just letting you know I'm still alive, things got kinda weird and hectic IRL (job + coworkers quitting = me doing all the work) but I am still trying to work on updating the mod ^_^.

I'm now working 10 hrs a day and 7 days a week between two jobs, so no promises on an update anytime soon, though. Just letting you know I'm still working on it!

Edit: Still alive, still working on an update! Funny thing about working 7 days a week - it's exhausting! -_-;
I don't really have a choice but to try to find rare time here and there, so progress has been slow, but I! Won't! Give! Up! I like working on this game, and finding more time to work on it has been something gnawing at me this entire time. I wanna do more with this game, dammit! >_<

Still alive, still working 70 hrs a week... ^_^;;; Personal and family problems took me away from pretty much any remaining free time I had. The personal stuff is almost all resolved - the family problems, not so much.

But, I've been lurking when I had the chance (keeping an eye on this thread especially!) and I've been trying to keep up progress on my mod too. It seemed pointless to just keep posting "Still alive, nothing yet!", especially when I don't know when I will have something, so I went a bit quiet on the forums as a result.

So, uh, sorry for my silence, but I am still alive! ^_^

Hey, it's an actual status update! ^_^

Ok, so this is not anything that'll be out soon, but I figured you all would like this...

I got EVIL to finally work with the new QSP player, 1.9. I haven't fully tested it out, so I'm not 100% sure yet, but I got it to play for a bit without the dreaded "crash on capital" bug. Turns out it was the use of regex in the code.

Let me vent for a bit on this:
You wanna know what the problem was? No? Well I'll tell you anyways, for anyone else who's modding this: Qqsp ('qsp 1.9') doesn't like regex. You know what the original dev decided to do to put commas in your money display? The one that shows on every screen starting with going the Capital? That's right! Regex! Gah! why would you specifically use a feature only supported by an older player for the engine, and then only use it once, but for a feature that appears everywhere?!

...Anyway, I don't think regex was used anywhere else in the code, but if it is I'll be sure to remove it, so that from the next update (whenever in the future it is) onwards, you'll theoretically be able to use any QSP player to play EVIL, not just the old one!

So yeah, not really a big feature, but one of the major things I've done since I started getting a little time back to code. I've been cleaning up the code here and there recently, trying to get rid of redundant code here and there and condense code down before I actually get back into the swing of things.

My business overhaul that I teased a while back is going to take a backseat for a bit while I get back into the groove, but I have constantly been tinkering with it to make it part of the game world as more than just the dry money-making mechanic it has always been. When I do get back to it, there'll be some pleasant surprises in store for you!

I'm still only able to code for only 4-5 hours a week (which is admittedly better than the 1-2 I was dealing with before), and just like I said in the post above, I don't know when I will have something for you all. But now that I have actual progress, no matter how small it is, I wanted to share it.

Idk what's happening with your version, but that is the exact version I have tested every update on. There might be a compatibility/software issue going on? I think the version in the OP has a player prepackaged with it, though it should be the same one maybe try that one just in case?

Thanks - I managed to fix it by downloading 5.8

Meanwhile, trying to get the latest community shared version, I probably have mismatched assets, as every classmate shows a guy's face, even those with girl names.
