problem with this is theres no way to put the cage back on it is not in the menu. it still shows in inventory but not in menu to wear. and cant buy it in store again either.

If there is no cage icon for the cage in the wardrobe, then it might be that mc wears the cage but does not have the key.
I use the nude-view of the paper doll to optically check if mc is caged. You should also see it in the masturbation menu if you can use your dick or not.
In some situations it may help to remove all toys by clicking on the special icon and then apply them again one by one ...

Once you maxed your fitness to 5, you have enough energy to work twice a day for Bailey, making up to 700 $ per week early in the game.
Roomie taking money despite doing chores seems like a bug or a misunderstanding, however if you have less money than you owe her, she may not take money from you but instead give a warning.

The interface is trainwreck for at least two years (prob 3+). what is the point of updates if main con stays the same?

Yeah the UI is pretty brutal. No consistency in the sizes of things. The accessories page for instance has some gargantuan elements for necklace, gag, and glasses with normal person buttons for the other things:

There are also issues with sizing with the images and videos. Reducing media and font size to make the bigger items fit would make other things so tiny that they're barely even visible and so small that it's pretty much impossible to see what the image is.

Well there are still certainly UI or sizing issues but I am glad to see that the stats information was moved from the middle to the left panel as it seems to help clear up a bit of the clutter. Thank you dev for listening.

Is there any cheats?

The game is written in SugarCube so its pretty easily editable though you need to be cautious about what you edit as you can softlock yourself. Changing money, stamina, or other basic stats you should be fine on. Haven't played this for a few updates and from what I am reading glad I haven't.
The UI changes and adding of stuff that takes away from the original storyline kind of ruined what early on was looking like an particularly well written and thought out game.

Bugs found:
1. Everyone starts referring to you by your female name as soon as you give one to Riley's roommate. Feels weird if after you tell one person that everyone seems to know of this change.

2. One of the events when you "hangout" with Gwen is an event of her waking you up and asking you to do the dishes. I had this even happen at 22:00.

3. Received an error when talking to talking to Lexi in Fem Lit where she asks how many fingers you can fit in your ass. (attached image)

4. A lot of classes have the "Home Menu" button instead of "return" one

5. In the event for Social Studies with Riley where she says think about what I stole from you and mentions that she wants you to put your cage on (which I don't have yet). This caused my character to have a Chasity cage to spawn on my character which didn't show up in my Closet so I am unable to remove it, and also when I visited Riley at her house she asked for the key which the MC responds with "I don't have it". I feel like this may skip some scenes

6. Not sure if its a bug but every gif of jerking off/cumming that was used for the masturbation action was of a tranny even when the MC has no experience with transitioning or even female underwear. Feels weird and kind of breaks the immersion.

7. Riley's events seem all sort of out of order. She was buttfucking me with a dildo early on and then a later event at her house when she's massaging you she slips in a finger and the mc is surprised like its weird.

8. When locking my chasity cage to watch the videos while locked for Bailey, the cage disappeared from my closet inventory, still shows I have it equipped on the model, but working at the Diner it says I don't have one equipped.
