just tried the mini game
old man: triggering picking up the cup - bugged
2 guys: triggered to the second cleaning dirt event - bugged
2 ladies: bugged even in the dialog of the first event
patient: didn't trigger after asking for cara's name

Hello!

My main focus this week was... game bugs!
Currently, game code in the released version is not too bad... but when a more complicated event comes along - something like last day at the Cafe, it can get super confusing due to a ton of "if/else" statements branching out in all directions.
This makes it easy to introduce bugs and makes it hard to spot them at the same time. Not cool!
Since I have gathered some experience now, I decided to clean up the game code a bit:
  • Separate events in a more efficient manner
  • Add comments to see what/where/why/when starts and ends
  • Create uniform standard on event progression
  • Remove redundant variables
It took some experimentation and was quite hard for me to figure out, but I'm happy with the result I got! Looking at the code now, it's super easy to read and event progression is much smoother to handle!
Does this mean no more bugs? Probably not realistic. But they shouldn't appear as often now!

Next!

Kitty! She's going to be a bit busy with her books next week, so no updates before that's done. But don't worry, you'll see more of her soon!
Poll is ending in 5 days, results will be announced on Dev update #58.
I'll start working on characters that won after update with Kitty is released!

Dev update #58 - Poll Results
Hello!

The vote ended and here are the results!
  • George got more votes than Jax and Jenn combined!
  • Jared got more votes than the rest of side characters combined!
Quite one-sided, eh?
Barista & Secretary uniforms are already available, so Hugh will take a back seat this time.​

On one hand - these results are a nice chance for me to end even more paths connected to George.
On the other hand - it will be even more "unbalanced" now towards the end, because our Main Characters should interact with multiple Bosses/Side Characters to gather enough Minx/Innocence experience point for most outrageous paths.
Requirements will be kept low for now, so it's possible that you'll need to suspend you're disbelief more than usual. I'll try not to do anything super out of place though! ʕ•ᴥ•ʔ

In other news, I've continued testing the game a bit, found and fixed some typos in dialogues, and found some discrepancies, e.g. animation workflow, flashing light effects, some message box related things. So yup! I feel like the game should now feel smoother across events without these small annoyances present.
And for Kitty? Well, she's getting ready!

I got this an an E-mail - Doki Ninja has paused their campaign. Patrons will not be charged on February 1st, 2019
All billing will resume on March 1st, 2019.

So i take the next update won't be until March

Well at least he's doing the right thing. I hope he hasn't been hit with health issues, seems a lot of people on Patreon are. He seems most interested in the mechanics over story these days, maybe he's focused on that.

Not saying they are lying but Health issue is what will get you the most sympathy without people putting pressure on you or having people withdraw their support massively.

Personnaly I'm not a fan of the remake, I liked the game how it was before.

32 bit systems are outdated and should not be used anymore because the support for them is pretty low and getting lower by the day. You should download windows 10 64bit from Microsoft for free and use that.
