Game is basically dead since he got delayed with Loser and even with him making a test build of it, it's going to take forever with how many bugs just pop up for it. That's why Loser is taking forever. He found game breaking bugs and been working to fix it.

It isn't actually abandoned, it just has the tag. The dev recently finished the update for his other game, so should be working on the next update for Superpowered 2 now.
Their games are certainly impressive in a way when it comes to the sheer amount of variation and such... but damn is progress painfully slow.

I wouldn't say dead... Given that each end of the month he works specifically for scenes requested by his patrons live, and he has been rendering some stuff for SP2 for the last few sessions (Gloryhole scenes). But yes, progress is slow, and the amount of variations on each scene is way too high. There is a reason why people tend not to add too many branching decisions to games. 3 basic scenes for each Billy type, plus big cock for basic Billy is bad enough. Then add the different states of the NPCs and...
Right now this game has over 2.5K images, that is what you find in quite a few finished basic games. And it has barely started.

Also there's the fact that he doesn't want to make things simple when it comes to game mechanics. A ton of people just put cheat engines in his game because the grind is way too long.
Like, I've seen and even made the joke of some porn devs really wanting to instead be a actual game dev rather then just as a vehicle for smut, but like, he really wants to be a game dev to the active detriment of enjoying the smut.

Anytime you take your game and split it into two parts, (unless it's a story with only one possible outcome or very limited outcomes so it's easy to put the questionaire thing in the beginning to have the right choices selected) you know the dev is fucking up.

There's no continuity between the previous sections, no care for the players and the story they've experienced, and they CLEARLY don't know what the fuck they're doing, hence why the code runs away from them so much that they feel the need to "split" the game instead of just leaving it as one product. It's almost ALWAYS a mistake and a sign of a failed project.

At the risk of sounding like a fanboy... He is a game developer. My understanding is that he worked for Activision/Blizzard for a few years, reading comments on his Discord. And given that he has been over 10 years at it... well either he is doing it right, or he is very stubborn on his failures.

What is clear is that he does things his own way, and doesn't seem to fazed about what people think about his games. He has his supporters (I am not one of them, at least not financially) and caters to them.

I posted the reasons why he finished (or split if you prefer) SP1 recently on the Loser Thread. If he learnt something from that mistake (a mistake with 12Millions views here, and that gave the exposure he has now), that's good on my books. I personally wouldn't mind more "failed" projects like SP1 around.

well, yeah, change engine is a huge risk sometimes, especially to those solo-person developers, they don't have a team to rely on. BUT, change from renpy to unity is still a brave attempt, anyway unity is a very powerful engine which means more game features in future and good for a developer to plus his career.
Maybe the developer need more time to adapt new engine and new program languages (C is complex than python), or if he uses some python-plugin, he need to time to fix some problems..
Or, there may be a better way: using an AI assistant

Referring to SP1 as failed makes me REALLY want to see his success. I lost days to that game. Completely agree.

yeah, he found multiple game breaking bugs and it just been messing up everything. He's been at it for about 3 months or so. I don't know anything about coding, but it sounds like all these extra game mechanics icons and text is overlapping among themselves and breaking how the game functions. Like sometimes simple is better for a game.
